We came here specifically to see the Hot Air Balloon Classic that they advertised on their website. We were looking for a place to stay for a couple of days on our way home from a trip to Michigan. The whole Hot Air Balloon Classic was very poorly organized. The staff was not informed of what was going on at... More

We spent the weekend at this resort for a family wedding. We stayed in a two bed condo overlooking the lake, a couple of minutes by car or a short walk from the main hotel buildings. These condos are privately owned and rented out by the hotel when the owners are not using them. Our condo was large, with two... More

Mariner's Landing condos: our queen size bed was actually a full size; the mattress was hard and lumpy; the foam pillows were also hard and lumpy. The furniture consisted of a worn out sleeper sofa with torn fabric, four hard metal chairs, two hard rattan chairs - nothing was comfortable. The restaurant meal was good one night and dreadful the... More

We stayed at Mariner's Landing while visiting nearby family during the first week in January. My son and daughter-in-law joined us for a couple of nights, and the grandchildren stayed over one night. Having 2 bedrooms with a pull out couch allowed us to do that. We were delighted to find we had daily room service; something that is once... More

I have stayed at Mariners Landing twice this year. Both times major items in the room failed to work. The TV, coffee pot, jacuzzi tub and the fire gas fire place. We didn't try to use anything else in the room. I am sure that if we had we would have found other things not working as well. When we... More

We stayed at The Pointe which is the three main medium rise buildings at this resort. We stayed in the two bedroom/two bath even though we could have saved $ by staying in the smaller hotel style rooms. The larger units have a balcony with a great view of the lake and mountains and were in our view worth the... More

Mariner's Landing has more amenitites than any other place around Smith Mountain lake! If you want fabulous views of the water and mountain - ask for a condo right on the lake! These units are individually owned but rent like a hotel with 2 or 3 bedrooms and 2 or 3 bathrooms and fully equipped kitchens, televisions in each room... More

Our family stayed at Mariner's Landing Golf and Lake Community during the Fourth of July for two weeks. This resort has all the amenities one could dream of including a restaurant on site, many pools with slides, hot tub, beach area with fire pit for roasting marshmallows, fitness center, golf, boating; with dock slips for your convenience, walking trails, playground,... We recently stayed at Mariners Landing in a three bedroom lakefront condo with our two young children and friends with another child. The accommodations were great. Beautiful views from sun room, great balcony with small gas grill. The kitchen was very large and fun to cook a family breakfast in. We have eaten at the onsite restaurrant in the past... More

Our first visit to SML - we loved it and Mariners Landing was such a pretty spot and nice resort - although not luxurious. The view was beautiful from the pool area and our 2BR condo at the Pointe. Even though it was a busy weekend (Labor Day) it was very calm and relaxing stay which was what we were... More
