Take a break in a remarkably beautiful wilderness location with the new residences at Virginia Hot Springs, set amongst the 11,500 acre preserve. This stunning and iconic region is richly historic and provides the perfect setting for our luxurious and comfortable cabins and cottages. You’ll find a wealth of activities within your reach, including many hiking trails, horseriding paths, a skiing, snowboarding and tubing area, fly fishing rivers, golf courses and plenty of local entertainment to help make your holiday unique. The retreat is surrounded by the Allegheny Mountains at the southwest edge of the Old Dominion. The Nature Conservancy’s Warm Springs Mountain Preserve and the George Washington National Forest also border the area, providing stunning views and landscapes to explore in every direction.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. The grounds are breathtaking and the activities are endless. The service in the Jefferson was slow coming but the food was well worth the wait. We loved our waitress, the speed was due to large parties and not lack of caring. Room service was fabulous and the bar at the Jefferson was attentive and above standard. Our only complaint was we could not get served in the lobby bar and had to leave. We watched them all talking at the bar but the Jefferson bar made up for our displeasure there

We stayed in one of the properties between Warm Springs and Hot Springs over independence weekend. The standard is excellent and the personal service provide by the manager Tiffany is excellent. It is relaxed with all the comforts of home and a lot more besides. There is lots to see and do in the local vicinity and further afield. The facilities and the swimming pool at main centre are great and so easy. For the more adventurous there are lots of walks and parks within easy reach to explore as well as lots of history to learn about. Alternatively you can chill and people watch in the bar at the Omni Homestead enjoying an excellent bottle of wine!

I was badly misled by the sales person at this company. Amenities that are promised are rarely or never available. For example, the pool and "resort facilities" are often rented out and unavailable to guests.

Response from Natural R, Director of Sales at Natural Retreats Homestead Preserve
Responded Jul 12, 2017
Thank you for your feedback. We do sometimes have events that will close down the facilities for a few hours. As we have previously discussed, we offered to pay for passes to another pool so that you and your family would have pool access that afternoon. We also offered to accommodated your family for an early check in and allowed you to use the facilities prior to your check in. I’m sorry that you felt the pool and facilities are rarely or never available – however, we’ve only closed down the facilities a few days a year.

We stayed in Anastasia, an amazing old cabin, very well kept, spacious and cozy. Walking into the living room felt like a fun and fantastic step back in time. We enjoyed our time in the cabin so much. Also the communication and service from the staff before arrival and on the day of arrival was excellent. Can definitely be recommend for a relaxing family getaway.

We loved staying at the Homestead Preserve. What a fabulous retreat (the photos online of the Bull Barn Cottage do not do it justice). The bathrooms are modern and both very large. The bedrooms had ample storage and amenities-- very comfortable and extremely soft sheets! Kitchen was perfectly stocked and we all enjoyed our stay. Do not miss the indoor spa tub (over in the main area near the silos) and the game room over there, too. There were board games, Foosball and a billiards table that we missed! We will be back. A couple of helpful hints: the Dairy Market isn't open extremely early (at least when we were there -- February) so bring your coffee / tea fixings from home. Loved the quiet, laid back vibe of being in Warm Springs but not being in the hustle and bustle of the Homestead Resort!

We stayed at Trailview Cottage over Labor Day and LOVED IT. Beautifully decorated, perfectly appointed, and very private while being so close to all the activities and town. The cottage has a great layout with TONS of space -- we had 4 adults and 3 kids (+ dogs) and had more space than we'd ever need. Natural Retreats provides the perfect mix of getting to experience "the real place" while being pampered and well cared for. The experience was fantastic and we are already planning our next NR vacation!

Stayed at LInkhorn Cottage for 10 days and the time flew by. The house was perfect. I love the way Natural Retreats decorate their cottages. You feel like you're right at home. Tiffany, Debbie, Stacy and my cousin Pam Thacker went the extra mile to make my visit a great one. I will definitely stick with Natural Retreats for my next visit and would recommend their facilities to anyone traveling through Bath County.

My family of four just returned from a stay at the Trailview Cottage. We absolutely loved our stay! We have rented many homes through VRBO, but we must say, the continuity of the Natural Retreats company greatly impressed us! The property was perfectly clean, beautifully decorated and situated in a serene, quite up and coming neighborhood. Once we toured the Omni Homestead, we were so thankful to have chosen to stay at Trailview. We enjoyed hikes around the property, hikes though the George Washington Forest, swimming at the Old Dairy, soaking in the Jefferson Pools, and eating delicious meals at local restaurants. We would definitely go back! If you are a picky traveler, I highly recommend this home and Natural Retreats.

If you want someone to help make sure you have a great vacation, then consider staying at Natural Retreats in Homestead Preserve. Before you arrive, a concierge helps you design your plans and thoroughly describes all the activities available at the resort. They make reservations at the best restaurants, they recommend the best attractions and they even arrange for food, groceries, and even a personal chef to be available to you when you arrive. It's truly extraordinary! I loved the Bull Barn Cottage we stayed in. It was luxurious and quaint at the same time. It was also super comfortably furnished and had the most beautiful gardens imaginable. It's right across from the Dairy and all the amenities, like a pool, sauna, sandwich shop, fitness center, game room and meeting rooms. They were setting up for a wedding that looked like it would be glorious! I can't recommend staying there enough. The region is the most pristine place in the Mid Atlantic. you'll rarely encounter many others on the hiking trails or at the warm springs spas nearby, Jefferson Pools. You can use the nearby Omni Homestead Resort like your own personal country club without paying for a room there! They have great dining venues and fireworks every Friday night this year. We loved the beach at nearby Lake Moomaw, and the hikes were both challenging and breathtaking. We are ready to make Bath County and Homestead Preserve a regular vacation destination for our family.

Thank you for the fabulous review! Bull Barn Cottage is a perfect little cottage to come relax in. The gardens are beautiful when in bloom. If you noticed, we had strawberries and fresh herbs growing throughout. The Dairy complex access is a fabulous amenity to have use of while vacationing in the home. Everything is right there on property. You never have to leave. Our Xplore Team strives to customize our Guests experience- before, during, and after your stay. The Team can make all your reservations from dining to resort activities day off at The Homestead. We are pleased that you enjoyed your vacation with us and are looking forward to having you visit again.
