Patty and Dan are great hosts. I was a little hesitant about a BnB but found them to be the perfect hosts. They were available at all times and there with a story when you wanted one and quick to disappear and allow space for their guests when they wanted it. We had a great stay at the hummingbird inn.... We had a wonderful experience during our two night stay at the Hummingbird Inn. Upon our arrival, the rooms weren't quite ready yet (we were a couple hours early) and Dan greeted us at the door allowing us to relax in the nap room (SO comfortable!) and enjoy brownies & coffee/tea. We felt at home immediately. We stayed in the... More

We had a wondeful time at the Hummingbird Inn. It is within easy driving distance to the towns of Stauton and Lexington, VA which offer fun, artsy shopping experiences and a Shakespeare theatre in Stauton. Dan and Patty are excellent hosts and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable while you are there. We'd definitely... More

My boyfriend purchased the LivingSocial for us to stay at the Hummingbird Inn. We had a lovely time. The owners, Patty and Dan, are extremely accommodating and friendly. Their breakfasts were very tasty, and while the guests were pretty quiet during breakfast, Patty and Dan did try to encourage conversation and interaction in an easygoing way. We felt very comfortable... More

We stayed here two nights to get out of the city and relax after our wedding in DC, and it was exactly what we were looking for. A nice, big comfy room overlooking the back yard and barn with a whirlpool tub and electric stove fireplace. Since we were the only ones staying there, we had free reign over the... More

Neither one of us had ever stayed in a Bed and Breakfast before our stay at The Hummingbird Inn, but I don’t think anywhere could have offered us a better first time experience. The house was amazing and our room was breathtaking. Underneath the beautiful appearance lies a rich history, which Patti and Dan will be sure to educate you... More

We needed a place to stay after driving through the Shenendoah mountains. Goshen is a perfect little place to stop. Although there isn't much at all in the town the Hummingbird Inn is a wonderful Inn. We stayed in Eleanor room which was very comfortable. The only detractor is a loud train that goes by the house several times at... More

I'm ready to go back now!! We pulled up to this beautiful house with wraparound 2 level porches with landscaped artfully lawn enclosed in a white picket fence. There are many beautiful common areas, I loved the den with its original wide plank wooden floor! Not to mention the living room, sun room and dining room! And talking about the... More

We escaped from the DC area for a Saturday night and had an amazing experience. The owners, Dan and Patty, are extremely kind and wonderful hosts. It is clear how much time, effort, and love has been poured into the Hummingbird. The rooms were extremely clean with very comfortable beds and the grounds are gorgeous. We will definitely return!
