When we drove up the hill, we thought that we were at a private residence. We turned around and then called. Surprise, it was the B&B. the house is only about 5 years old and at first we expected a Victorian as most B&B's we've stayed in were older. After checking in we enjoyed the ambiance. Suzanne and David were... More

The house was so warm and friendly. Beautiful landscaped yard. Sat outside on the swing and had a few cocktails!! So relaxing!! We had to leave the next day at 5:45 AM. The inn keeper, woke up early to make us a hot breakfast to go. She added snacks as well. What a nice start to a long drive that... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Uphill House while visiting the presidential homes and wineries in the Gordonsville area. The inn is a lovely, newer home tucked up a long driveway that winds through the trees. They have a beautiful backyard with 2 large decks - perfect for star gazing (and bat watching) at night. It is... More

My wife and I made a 1-night stay here while attending the Barboursville/Palladio Restaurant 15th Anniversary Gala Dinner. It was a gem of a place to stay, just a 5-minute drive from the winery. Very clean. Sam and Scott are friendly owners, and Sam's parents help out around the place. Oh...and a great breakfast (my wife "stole" the recipe). We'll... More

Uphill is the perfect getaway! It's a great place to relax and recharge. It's the ideal location; wineries are just down the road and there are some great hiking trials close by. Charlottesville is also only 20 minutes away if you want to venture into town. The owners are amazing! They know the area and are so helpful with their... More

My husband and I spent the most wonderful 4 nights at the Uphill B&B over this past long Labor Day weekend. As is common after a wonderfully relaxing time, we spent the following week reminiscing about the setting, wonderful food and hospitality. That week became weeks and now more than a month later, we're still comparing everything we eat to... More

We haven't planned a hooky day in a long time and we love driving touring wineries in Barboursville! Tucked away from the highway is Uphill house beautifully landscaped and the house is decorated with music and gaming nostalgia!!! Our first night there I think we played 20 albums (yes albums) and enjoyed wine and remembering our childhood. Although we didn't... More

My husband and I don't usually stay at B&Bs, but would definitely stay here again. Lynn and Joyce were delightful hosts and innkeepers. English breakfast or American, both were delicious, served on warmed plates, with non-stop hot coffee and home made pastries.
