The Hyatt Place is a fairly new hotel and is basically Hyatt’s answer to Marriott’s Courtyard brand. A mid-service hotel with amenities targeted at the business traveler. For $70/night, it is cheaper than the other 3 stars hotel near this area. Nothing fancy, but decently clean. Bed is comfortable. Not bad for a weekend night stay near downtown Richmond, which is about a 20 minutes drive away. The downside would be the difficulty in adjusting the shower temperature. Waited 20 minutes for each check in/out and to speak with the front desk. Poor selection for breakfast - cereal, fruit, and plain yogurt. Rooms are semi-renovated from circa 1960. Bed side lamps are pre-renovation and required getting out of bed to turn off. Old/dirty trash bins in room were unlined (yuck!). more
