This was our third stay at Lackawanna, a small, carefully restored 19th century B&B nestled in the foothills of the Skyline Drive, just a short drive from Washington DC or Baltimore. The innkeepers, Phil and Sandy, serve a fabulous breakfast and are fonts of information on the area. We enjoy the fresh air and hikes and the comfort of the... More

We stayed here for a Valentine weekend escape, and we loved it. The owners were most gracious and provided all sorts of nice amenities--coffee, snacks, tea, wine, etc. They even put a nice box of chocolates in each room and served chocolate pancakes with raspberry puree for a Valentine touch. The river is close by and provides a nice scenic... More

This B&B is near the entrance to Skyline Drive and close to Interstate 66. It is at the edge of Front Royal, which is a sleepy town without much to offer other than some nice antique shopping and a couple of good restaurants. The proximity to Shendoah National Park is a great asset. The B&B was very comfortable, and they... More

My husband and I had a lovely stay at this B&B. The owners were very helpful with restaurant recommendations and prepared a delicious breakfast. We would definitely visit again! More

Wonderful location (close to Skyline Drive, Shenendoah National Park, Front Royal restaurants and more) but quiet enough for a peaceful getaway. The innkeepers were excellent hosts, providing information about local attractions as well as offering specials to local wineries. The breakfasts were a delight (french toast was my favorite). They also offered a wine bar, provided bottled waters for our... More

I loved this bed and breakfast in Front Royal. Unfortunately, we got stuck in some nasty traffic on the way in from DC, so we weren't able to get in til about 8:30 - I called over, however, and the owners were very accommodating. I loved hearing about the history of the house when we finally arrived, seeing the vintage... More

My only complaint with the B&B was the price. It was definitely a little overpriced for what you get, but it was a lovely place. They do try to make up for the price by having many complimentary items, such as a wine bar with fresh popped popcorn, snacks, and waters. The bed was very comfortable and the room was... More

Beautiful restored building with elegance and charm. Our hosts were charming and gracious. Breakfast was a special treat, as our host was a retired fire fighter who also was the firehouse cook. Check out his waffles. They float in the air. More

We just returned from a weekend in Front Royal visiting local wineries. We stayed at the Lackawanna B and B. Sandy and Phil were so welcoming along with their 3 lovely dogs Nick, Emeril, and princess Lily! Their breakfasts were delicious along with the Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treats served later in the day. We were treated like royality. It's... More

Sandy and Phil were very warm and welcoming. They serverd a great breakfast that we enjoyed after lounging on the front porch with our coffee and watching the humming birds! The house offered historic charm with very comfortable (and quiet!) rooms. The location, while not riverfront as expected, was very convenient, offering a central location to several local wineries. This... More
