Having arrived in Floyd from Ireland to 'do' the Crooked Road music scene we went to the visitor's centre where we met the lovely Diane, who could not have been nicer or more helpful. She rang around and finally got us into Jeanie’s Cottage on Main. It was just on the edge of the main street – charming and unique.
This small, old-fashioned wooden cottage sits in her garden at the back of her more colonial style house. Beside the house is her cottage. Jeanie’s father owned all of this and had run his veterinary clinic from the cottage where he had also reared his family.
Jeanie is a handsome, lively lady who is an artist and designer of handbags. She is obviously a real goer. The Cottage is her most recent venture. She has developed two ‘suites’ in the Cottage and she has hand-painted everything, including floors, walls, furniture, light switches. The walls in every room show off her own oil paintings.
