This little wayside oasis is delightful. The room we stayed in was recently renovated and very comfortable. The towels are memorable. Breakfast was very tasty and custom made. I would recommend this home away from home for anyone travelling the Blue Ridge Parkway. Be sure to visit Floyd. So much to discover.

We stayed one night at Tuggles Gap Roadside Inn with our dog while visiting the Blue Ridge Parkway. Staff were friendly and check in and in the morning. The room was simple, but clean and comfortable and the WiFi was good. The shower was really nice as well. Breakfast was really good, home-cooked eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes, much better than most hotel breakfasts. And the location is great, right at the Blue Ridge Parkway and VA-8, a few miles outside of Floyd. A little pricey for a motel, but worth it for the location. I would definitely stay here again.

We stopped on our way through for Thanksgiving and were so impressed. The rooms have been recently renovated and have everything you need in them. We were checking in late and they were so accommodating! We then had breakfast at the restaurant that is attached and it was great. If you’re on that part of the Parkway, I highly recommend!

This sweet inn has only about 12 rooms that have recently been renovated. It was so clean, and that bed!!!! Even the bedspread was tasteful. Truly, it was amazing. The bathroom was so clean and had a sophistication to it, yet the room was warm and cozy with its knotty pine ceiling and flooring. We loved it,and would definitely stay here again. The owner, Nick, is very customer-service focused, a hard worker, and very genuine. We loved him and this place. You will easily spot this hotel since the sign is huge, white, and welcoming!

I had been going to Tuggles restaurant by motorcycle for the last 8 years. It was always on our list of places to have a beer and some lunch at. I've never stayed at the motel, so I don't know what they looked like before the renovation, but I heard there was no A/C and the rooms weren't in great shape. The room my daughter and I stayed in was one of the two double bed rooms. (unit 3) It was so nice!!!! Mattresses are comfy. The towels are luxurious. The pine ceiling and trim work is just right for the area. You can sit out on the patio and look at the mountains with a cup of coffee in the morning. The greatest part is having the restaurant next door. If you place an order, they bring it to the room for you. Or you can go over and sit on their outdoor sitting area (kinda small) and have a cocktail or a meal. No more smoking out there, which I love. There is no fridge so bring a cooler. They give you bags of ice for free. There is no closet, but six large hooks you can hang things on. I would suggest the owner put in those luggage holders. The kind that fold up maybe? I had to put my suitcase on the floor. And I would suggest they stock their fridge, at the restaurant, with convenient store items. Like, milk, juice, etc. I loved the stay. I will DEFINITELY be back each year.

Newly owned, this motel (1938) has been completely renewed and it is fantastic. It is ultra clean, it smells good, the shower is big, the towels are so soft and thick, the mattresses are #1 quality and the pillows as well. The linen is excellent quality, AC is not noisy. What else can I add ? It is very well decorated. No frills. We had a great time and the owner is very helpful and nice. Thank you for a nice stay.

Only a few rooms are open so far but they have been renovated and are super clean and very nicely done. Everything looks new and the bed is very comfortable. Right next to the Blue Ridge Parkway to hop on. Owner's brother checked us in and was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again! Hope they get the rest of the rooms open soon!

Stay here only if there’s nothing else available. When I called ahead, the woman told me it “wasn’t the Holiday Inn”, but I didn’t think it would be that bad. The bad: * Rust in the water is so bad, the shower & toilet are stained orange. The coffee in the restaurant must be made with it too because there was a metallic aftertaste to it. (See photos) * I started to not even shower, but Googled it & decided rust wasn’t dangerous, so I gave it a go. I had to run the water for like 5 minutes to get it warm, & it never once got hot enough to need to turn it back any. Halfway through the shower, it went ice cold. Not gradually, all at once. * The place is absolutely dilapidated. It’s got a For Sale sign out front, which suggests that only the bare minimum is being spent keeping it running. Peeling paint, & scarred up floors. The furniture looks like maybe the 60s (or even earlier). The TV was one of those old 100 lb tube types & there was no cable or internet. * No a/c, but the low was around 60, so I didn’t need it. *No shampoo or conditioner. Bring your own. The Good: * It’s dusty, but the beds, floors, & towels were clean. * Totally safe & very quiet (Although there WAS literally, a guy picking a banjo on a bench in front of my room when I arrived.) * Great location Stay at your own risk.
