I stayed for the third time at Longwood B&B on a business trip to the university. This is a beautiful old house with gigantic pillars in the front and wrap-around porches. Patrons are greeted after hours by an envelope that gives them a code to access the house. Cookies await in the entrance parlor. The rooms are beautifully appointed with... More

My wife and I stayed at the Longwood U B&B this past Saturday night after spending the day at Green Front. The B&B is beautiful, clean, and is in the heart of downtown Farmville (walking distance to restaurants and the main street), We got to the B&B after it was 'closed' and were greeted with a nice welcome package, fresh... My husband and I came into town for a function at Longwood and the university put us up here. We got the room shown in the profile picture. We cam after dark and the inn director, Lorrie, goes home at five or so, so we were just left a set of keys and a security code to get into the... More

We had the opportunity to spend the night at this Bed & Breakfast, what a wonderful experience, quiet, comfortable, beautiful antiques, nicely decorated for Christmas! We will definitely plan another stay--

Imagine that you have a very rich uncle who invites you to house sit in his magnificent, personally decorated estate while he's on vacation. That's the vibe of the Longwood B&B. To call it a B&B is a little misleading. Since there is no live-in proprietor, the whole experience is very much "fend for yourself." You pick up your key,... More

While attending a conference at Longwood University I decided to stay here instead of a chain hotel. It takes a lot for me to pass up my chain rewards points, but this was an amazingly perfect choice! My mother traveled with me and we each had wonderful rooms. The home was beautifully elegant with antiques mixed with comfy chairs, wi-if... More

If you want to sleep in a big old house, this is the place for you. However, there is no inn keeper onsite so it's a bit of a strange experience. There are post-it notes everywhere "Dear Guest, please dont...." Felt like I was sleeping in my grandmothers house. I really missed the interaction with the Inn Keeper as they're... More

I enjoyed staying at this B&B. I was in the Grant room, and the bed was wonderfully comfy. I liked the atmosphere of having the historic furniture (not that I believe Grant actually wrote any historic documents on the desk--but maybe??) in this grand old house, without the fussiness and excessive lace of many B&B's. I was in Farmville for... More

I was initially excited about my stay here, but upon arrival I've had a few nauseous moments which ruined the whole stay for me. First, I've noticed that the bathroom wasn't cleaned entirely. There was hair in the bathroom drain hair stopper from the previous resident. And I personally couldn't bring myself to clean it. Afterwards, when it was time... More

I am not a hotel/motel type person as it is way too dull. My room at this B&B was wonderful and didn't at all feel like a hotel type room. It had beautiful furniture and a really nice bath. I felt like I was staying at a friend's house -- a really, really rich friend's house. The breakfast was delicious... More
