Took my grandson to see Washington DC, the rate at the Marriott Fairfax was much cheaper than even the lowest class hotels in the metro DC area and it was an easy metro (5 miles from hotel) ride to get into D.C. The only objection I would have with the hotel was no free internet in the regular rooms ($9.95/day);... More

Wireless internet was slow to the point of uselessness - despite the inflated daily cost, and is useless for someone trying to do work. Restaurant ridiculously priced - nearly $20 for a poor quality breakfast buffet. Service slow. I've been staying at Marriott properties for 20 years - this was one of the most disappointing,

I stayed at the Marriott from June 3rd-5th 2010. The property is beautiful and is located next to a shopping mall, which was very convenient. The rooms were very nice with balconies that opened into an atrium. The cleanliness was superb! They also have a very nice restaurant, and a Starbucks. The only thing i was disappointed in was the... I'm a business traveler and have stayed at hundreds of Marriotts worldwide. This must be the worst one I have ever stayed at. The "high speed" internet shut down twice and then the engineer had no clue how to fix it, and then when he did, it still was slower than my dial up modem. I asked for a refund,... More

We're in the Marriott Rewards program, and this one was the worst Marriott we've stayed in. Not because it was dirty or noisy or in a bad location. It was perfectly acceptable, and we got an especially low group rate. But they got us with the very expensive breakfast ($20) and poor customer service overall. For example, we were charged... More

In the process of moving from our home, I thought it would be fun to stay a night in a local hotel with a pool. A mini vacation amongst the chaos of the move. It was a great night. The pool was warm, the rooms were nice and the beds were comfortable. Only complaint would be that the staff was... More

We traveled to Fairfax to see our daughter perform in a concert at George Mason University. Family/friends came from several states and we wanted a place to gather and provide a casual meal. We reserved a parlor suite for a very reasonble rate with a connecting room. It was a perfect and comfortable place to entertain about twenty guests...offering a... More

We reserved with a fridge but I had to phone down (once we had checked in) to ask them to bring one. It came but was not thoroughly clean inside. Housekeeping usually came around 4pm to clean our room. There is only 2 washers and dryers for all the hotel guests (6-story) including the concierge floor, aparently. One dryer wasn't... More

My husband and I travel frequently. We were staying in Fairfax for a wedding last December. Sorry this review is so late, but I am new to Trip Advisor. This was, by far, one of the freindliest hotels that we have ever stayed in! The hotel was clean and beautiful. We were so comfortable there.

There is an employee named Dennis here who seems to have no clue what quality customer service is. He's a short, round, red faced ( from embarassment I assume) guy who seems to believe he's accomplished something by becoming a manager in the hotel industry. Well, on to more professional staff. the front desk was incredible and was able to... More
