I won't restate what other reviewers have said. This is a perfect base camp for a cycling, hiking, or skiing week or weekend. I've stayed here during spring break in March for cycling "spring training" for the past few years. The inn is affordable, clean, and comfortable. I love the cornbread muffins at breakfast. There are plenty of hilly cycling... More

We recently stayed one night at the Acorn Inn and found it an enjoyable experience. The hosts are are friendly and informative. We wanted to spend the afternoon relaxing and they directed us to the perfect little park to spend some time by the river. Just what we needed! The rooms are small, but comfortable. The shared bathrooms caused a... More

We felt welcome right from the start at Acorn Inn. What a wonderful couple and perfect hosts, Martin and Kathy are! Their enthousiasm and warmth makes Acron Inn such a good place to stay. Kathy is a talented artist and the Inn is decorated with her art. Martin is Dutch and he loves to ride his bike. We enjoyed his... More

I adore the Acorn Inn! The rooms are clean, comfortable and cozy. Breakfast features yummy homemade breads and muffins as well as fruit. What really stands out, however, is the owners and how they treat their guests. They are welcoming, informative, interesting and amazingly helpful. I am a bike rider and asked for help in finding a route during my... More

Based upon a positive review in a VA guidebook, I made a phone call from a rest stop in WV to check on availability. Yes, room available for that evening, price was right, only one other couple (adult son w/ mother). On the phone, the innkeeper (Kathy) shares a bit about the inn and its history ~~ nothing fancy; it... More

The Acorn Inn is a wonderful and inspiring place. It is incredibly personal and everything about it is just right. The owners of the bed and breakfast are so genuine and hospitable that you can't help but want to come back as soon as possible. I came back for a second visit a week after the first and was blown... Already last year I was visiting for two weeks at the Acorn Inn and I was immediately welcomed and well done, exactly as in this Jahr.Every of the 10 rooms individually decorated and lovingly with various art works, paintings and souvenirs of various trips. A beautiful fireplace is ideal for reading, watching TV or chatting with other guests and one... More

Having lived abroad and traveled on 6 continents, my husband and I delight in our regular return visits to The Acorn Inn in Nellysford, VA. What a little gem to have in the Blue Ridge Mountains right here in Virginia! The Inn feels like a European B&B or hostel. It is a renovated horse stable, very unique, with 10 cozy... More

The Acorn Inn, efficiently managed by owners Kathy and Martin, provided the perfect location for our son's nuptial celebration. A beautiful sit-down rehearsal dinner for 50 was on the porch was followed the next day by a gala wedding and reception for 125+. The Inn could accomodate the entire wedding party and several more. The natural setting provided the perfect... More
