Incredibly well kept mansion with antique furniture in all the rooms. Plenty of public space to relax and meet others. Very quiet. Fun to chat with other guests during breakfast which was very tasty.

What a charming and wonderful bed and breakfast. The setting is absolutely stunning and the house has so much history to it. The owner and his wife are very accommodating and willing to share the family’s history of the house. If you are looking for a place to get away and relax, look no further. Close to downtown Dublin and a short drive to Blacksburg.

We visited for a two night stay while attending the Purdue versus Virginia Tech football game. The bed-and-breakfast is a historic treasure set amongst the rolling hills of southwestern Virginia. The house is well-maintained, clean and full of antiques, family heirlooms, and historical references to the family’s and house’s past. The guestroom was spacious, clean and well-maintained. The husband and wife owners of the property were charming and available to discuss the family and manor history. It was a good location away from the hustle and bustle of a football weekend in Blacksburg. It’s only a 30 minute drive between the house and campus. Highly recommended.

Rockwood Manor is beautiful from the minute you turn onto the drive. The grounds are well established and so pretty. The innkeepers are very nice and welcoming. The location was perfect for us and close to Claytor Lake where we attended a wedding. Our room was large and comfortable, the linens were wonderful! We really enjoyed our 2 evenings there and will return.

Rockwood Manor is an incredibly special place. My wife and I love to stay at Bed and Breakfast because it allows you to stay in incredible homes that you normally would never get to stay in. We were on our way home and the weather was bad, and the night was getting late and so VERY last minute we tried to find a place to stay, and we found Rockwood. Even though it was late and as last minute as you can get, we were welcomed in and given a beautiful room. The house is grand, the owner is fabulous, and the grounds are like a retreat. Thank you again for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home!!!

Our second time staying at Rockwood. We stayed again in the Bell Room which is bright, has a gas fireplace, walk in shower with two heads. The room is on the first floor and convenient for breakfast and the pantry for getting coffee/tea during the day.

My wife and I found Rockwood Manor to be a wonderful bed and breakfast in the heart of the New River valley. We enjoyed the ambiance and amazing hospitality of the grand manor home. Frank made it extra special by taking the time to share historical information about the home and surrounding area. We were enthralled and extended our breakfast time to learn more and more. The accommodations and the grounds were equally enchanting. We look forward to staying with Frank and the Manor on our next visit.

We stayed at Rockwood Manor this past weekend while visiting our son for Family Weekend at Radford University. The owners Frank and Rochelle are charming and a font of knowledge about the rich history of the property and family. The beautiful manor, buildings and grounds are meticulously maintained and perfectly appointed. And the breakfasts? Outstanding! Can't recommend highly enough.

Our weekend at this grand manor was exquisite. Frank shared many historic stories about the New River Valley and shared books about my heroine Mary Draper Ingles. Breakfast was delicious, served in an elegant dining room, with many antiques and a beautiful view. The well kept grounds, and the rocking chairs on the porch, allow one a respite from hectic life. We stayed in the lovely Blakemore Room. I highly recommend this special treasure of bygone days.

I have never felt so much at home, while road tripping across the country, as I did during my stay at Rockwood Manor. I turned off the main road and started up the long, paved driveway. The house is not visible from the entrance. As I reached a slight crest in the driveway, I stopped to soak in the beauty of the majestic house now in my sight. Inside and out, this beautiful historic home sits in a peaceful setting. The house was clean, and even with other guests in the house, it was quiet. I stayed in the only bedroom on the first floor. There was a door onto the sun porch and one into the library from my room. As Frank suggested, I opened both doors in the morning and the flow-through breeze was fabulous. The breakfast each of my four mornings, was hot and fresh. It could be enjoyed on the sun porch or the formal dining room. The front porch is perfect for sittin’ and sippin’ morning coffee. Or to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening while watching the bunnies have a late snack in the well manicured lawn. Frank is a walking history book. Try to spend some time with him. You won’t regret it. Frank emails clear directions to the house and how to check-in. I also like the fact that booking is direct with the owner and not through a third party, thus saving high priced extra fees.
