We stayed here four days at the end of July 2009. The kids ages 11 & 14 like the outdoor pool. It's 9 feet deep and larger than your typical pool at motels now. It was sparkling clean, had nice tables and chairs surrounding it. The rooms however were so-so. Mine had a big spot on the carpet there the... more

My 2 teenage boys and myself came for a 3 day event at Kings Dominion and decided to stay at the Econo Lodge for the price and closeness to Kings Dominion. I was a little worried at first because of the reviews. We knew check in wasnt until 2 so we went to the park first and left for lunch... more

This was the worst place I ever stayed, We were church group who booked 20+ rooms. The rooms were filthy, they had a bad odor, the vanity sinks wouldn't hold water, the shower knobs weren't working, light bulbs in the bathroom and rooms were blown, telephones weren't working, alarm clocks weren't plugged in, those are just a few problems with the rooms.... more

I chose the hotel due to its proximity to Kings Dominion, and the fact that I was only staying overnight. I arrived early and was abruptly told my room wasn't available and there was nowhere for me to store my bags (which I wasn't surprised at). When I returned around 8pm, the reception clerk took ages to locate my reservation.... more

I was in the area with my wife for a family reunion and visit to King's Dominion, and opted to stay here because of its location. I thought it would be nice to be able to leave the park and quickly get somewhere we could change clothes and relax for a while (we knew we would be feeling bad after... more

While driving south to visit family my Husband and I stopped at the Econo Lodge. I was very suprised at the low rate compaired to the Best Western across the street. The clerk was friendly and the check in fast. When we go to our room it was very clean and a wonderfully fresh sent met us as we opened... more

Having read the last review I was very leary of the hotel and figured I could find another one if I didn't like the looks of the Econo Lodge. Well there has been a major renovation not only on the building but also in the management. There is a new woman manager that has just arrived and she is really... more

Just returned from a 2-night stay for a trip to King's Dominion. I made the reservation online, & received confirmation over a month before arrival for a king, non-smoking room. Upon arrival, there were no king, non-smoking available. When I protested, presented my printed confirmation, the evening desk clerk stated that "it didn't get put into the system in time,... more

I had second throughts about staying here after reading previous posts, but decided to keep the reservation. I am very glad I did. This is not a 5-star hotel, but it does not advertise as such. It is a basic, clean, neat comfortable place to stay while you are visiting King's Dominion or other attractions in and around Richmond, VA.... more

First of all the motel is right in the middle of a truck stop loading area. Big mac trucks coming in and out all hours of the day and night. Both of our rooms were filthy, including urine on the commodes and dirty bathtubs. The rooms smelled of urine but they tried to cover up the odor with some type... more
