My husband and I, as well as our best friends, stayed in the Farmhouse on the Sugar Hollow property. It was immaculately clean, warm and welcoming. There was an upstairs parlor where we could gather to sit and talk, play board games etc. It's immediately adjacent to the main Inn where breakfast was served. Breakfast was delicious-pumpkin pancakes on Sat.... more

We've been staying at the Inn when we visit our daughter at the University of Virginia for the last three years. The location is superb, in the quiet countryside yet close enough to town to go out to dinner, see a football game or a show. Great walks close by along the river and into Shenandoah National Park. Dick and... more

This adorable inn was the perfect location for our Charlottesville weekend, during which we toured wineries and visited Thomas Jefferson's Monticello home (with a fantastic new visitors center). It was surprising how much you could choose from for activities and restaurants in and around the area, given how far off the beaten path the inn is, with UVA so close by.... more

Great breakfasts, hiking options, cozy reading and relaxing areas with fireplace. Remote enough to really escape from the madding crowds, yet close enough- 10-15 minutes- to several good restaurants and pub; within 30 minutes of University of Virginia and Thomas Jefferson's Monticello ( a fascinating historical visit to the home of one of our founding fathers). Hosts are friendly and... more

Our first time at a BandB and I would have to say that Dick & Hayden made it a pleasure from beginning to end. Beautiful clean room, private bath, fireplace and very nice common areas. Could not have imagined it any better. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. more

This was my second visit to the Inn. It's a beautiful place -- serene and relaxing. Dick and Hayden are great Innkeepers and can offer suggestions for just about anything you ask - whether it's visiting nearby historical sites, wine tours, dining, directions, historical events, hiking the adjacent trails, or entertainment. The breakfasts are delicious and varied each day. The... more

Hayden and Dick continue to run a first class operation. Cozy, inviting, pretty, all of the above. The inn is located in a quiet wooded setting at the base of the Shenandoah Mountains about 20 minutes from the historic downtown area of Charlottesville, VA. The drive to the inn is through beautiful horse country with views of rolling hills, mountains... more

My husband and I stayed at the Sugar Hollow Inn over Halloween weekend. Upon arrival we were greeted and received help getting our luggage upstairs. The house is really cute with wood floors and a modern/country charm. We stayed in the Seven Springs Room, which is located in the Main House. There are no pictures of this room on their... more
