This was our first experience with a real B&B- so we don't have much to compare it to.
The innkeeper, Anne, is one of the friendliest people I think I've ever met. She always made sure that we, and the other guests, were comfortable and not in need of anything.
Anne is an excellent cook. Breakfast was great- and she asked us the night before if there were any particular foods we had aversions to.
The B&B itself was beautiful. As was explained to us by Anne, the house is a Victorian with a few architectural features that distinguish it from traditional victorians. The sunny front porch is great for sitting and rocking. We also enjoyed the wine and cheese hour on the front porch.
The town of colonial beach is very small and borders the potomac river. There are swimming beaches a decent walk away, although the bell house sits directly across the street from the river. There are many great restaurants in town- mostly seafood...
