We've lived on three continents, traveled to six, and this is, simply, one of the best b and bs we've ever stayed at. Lovely food (tapas and wine in the evening was enough for dinner - and delicious as well), beautiful room, and a hostess who is the soul of hospitality! Makes us wish we lived nearby so we could... Owner was flexible, kind and professional with our short stay. Provided toys for the children, a great place for our dog, and cooked us the most delicious breakfast. Attention to detail was extraordinary. The suite was beautiful, extremely clean, with a great view of the Potomac River. Unlike other places, we felt at home, owner made us feel special. The... My fiance and I had a wonderful time at River Terra Retreat. Kristine was a wonderful hostess that made us feel at home and welcomed. She is a terrific cook and treated us to the most delicious breakfast. We did a cooking class with Caitlyn, who is the chef at the Tides Inn Market, right at the River Terra. We... More

Breakfast was unmatched, one of the best! Upstairs suite was comfortable, very roomy, tastefully decorated, very Northern Neck, Va. Great deck view of the Potomac and nice area for walking in the morning. Kristine is a delightful, humorous host.

My wife and I were looking for an easy escape weekend near DC and we found it at the River Terra Retreat. With the help of Kristine, the "guest whisperer," we had a weekend to remember. The house is a lovingly restored Victorian home, but with all the modern comforts one would expect in a retreat. We stayed in the... More

Perhaps you know of another Inn in VA with a similar name??? Well, River Terra is the Inn at Little Colonial Beach for a fraction of the price. This Inn is immaculately clean and very nicely decorated. We stayed in the 2nd floor suite and really enjoyed the spacious bedroom, bathroom and private balcony with a view of the Potomac... More

BEFORE YOU READ! * If you are dieting, this is not the place for you. * If you enjoy food as much as I do, you will love River Terra. * If you want to walk/run some calories off (so you can enjoy more deliciousness, of course), you can easily get a 5-mi loop in. It was flat and beautiful,... More

River Terra provided us with a superb getaway for a couple of nights. Kris was welcoming from the beginning of our visit. She made us feel right at home in a special sort of way. We stayed in a second floor suite with abundant amenities. The deck was gorgeous with a slightly obstructed (not a real problem, but worth knowing)... More

What a wonderful weekend! Kristine goes above and beyond, to make your stay memorable! Gourmet breakfasts and incredible tapas! Chatting with her in the mornings, over coffee, about all the charity work she and her church do, was by far, my best memory! I cannot wait to go back and stay in the suite upstairs, it was gorgeous!

I stayed here with my boyfriend for Labor Day Weekend and it was a really great experience. Kristin was super friendly, welcoming and helpful, she really goes above and beyond. First, just the breakfast made the trip worthwhile. It was so delicious : maple bacon, rustic baked eggs, hearty french toast, fresh fruit, glazed peaches, ect.... We stayed three nights... More
