We wanted a relaxing weekend but we got so much more than that. The rooms and the Inn are clean and beautifully decorated. The beds are super comfy and the sheets were smooth as silk. The kitchen was well stocked. Sitting on the porch made it feel even more like home. The Inn is located right off Main Street and... More

The Red Lantern Inn, an uncommon inn set just at the top of downtown Clifton Forge, easily within walking distance to everything. The Red Lantern Inn has had many incarnations, including a funeral home, but it is this last metamorphosis that strikes me as being just right. The inn is filled with antique and new furnishings that envelope you with... More

This is a wonderful "Home away from Home"! JoAnn is so friendly and helpful, and the house is beautifully furnished with so much character. Clean and welcoming, easy to walk to restaurants and shops. We will definitely be back as soon as possible!

We stayed at the Red Lantern Inn to be near family who live in Clifton Forge. It is a very nice, older building and the rooms are large, clean and light. We will go back there again. The owner and staff were very pleasant.

I stayed at The Red Lantern Inn for the first time this past weekend. I was deeply impressed with the accommodations. The place was absolutely spotless and everything looked so clean crisp and fresh. Rooms were big with comfortable beds and the house was plenty big as 4 different groups filled it out for the weekend. We were on the... More

We stayed with a small group at the Red Lantern Inn. It's a clean, cozy, welcoming place and the owner, Jo Ann Gideons, and her assistant Esther, couldn't have been more helpful. We will definitely be coming back! Clifton Forge is an attractive small town with good food and an interesting history, very walkable.

The Red Lantern Inn has been nicely remodeled while retaining many of its historic elements. The updates are more apparent in person than on the website. Jo Ann is great company and makes the stay even more enjoyable. Would definitely return to the Red Lantern Inn.

I stayed four nights at the Red Lantern while I was in Clifton Forge, giving music workshops, and playing a concert. The Inn more than exceeded my expectations....It was like staying at a friend's house. It is very comfortable, completely updated to feel like a modern house in terms of luxuries, yet furnished with nice antiques to give a historic... More

What a lovely inn rich in history! We felt welcome immediately at this charming inn. The owner was very gracious and hospitable, giving us a brief tour before getting settled in. The furnishings were extra comfy, the snacks were delightful. The bed was theist comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Excellent restaurant recommendations, some within walking distance. First class, very... More

We had many people stay at the Red Lantern for a recent wedding and even the bridal party decided to stay on the eve of the wedding because it's so nice! We enjoyed having a large social area to relax and prepare for the wedding. Our guests enjoyed mingling over coffee and muffins. We were able to do laundry, make... More
