I love little places like this. Absolutely not a luxury spot, but quaint and CLEAN! th people at the desk were very friendly and ready to help with questions as it was my first trip to Chincoteague. They recommended the trolley tour and it was very informative and filled with the history stuff I love. It was quiet and an... More

I much prefer small motels to large hotels, and this one is now one of my favorites. Friendly owners, nice pool, comfy and cozy room, good location, easy check in and out, and most importantly, SPOTLESSLY CLEAN!! Chincoteague Island is a very sweet, very little town, but it has quite a few large chain hotels to choose from ~ I... More

We are glad we chose this little motel as opposed to a chain motel because it has character. Our room has everything we need. It is not fancy, but it is clean, and the beds are comfortable. The amenities are adequate; no shampoo, small cakes of soap. There is a fridge and a coffee maker, and a room air conditioner.... More

I have my standards! Accommodations must be clean comfortable and quiet! The Sea Shell was this & more! William greeted us with a warm smile and perfect dining recondition. The room was completely updated, clean, comfortable beds & bath. The efficiency was well supplied with everything you'd need to eat in. We are already planning our next visit.dint overlook this... I stopped there 2 days during a tour of Virginia this summer. I looked for something different from the standard types of motels/hotels you find everywhere. And I found here what I looked for. Deliciously oldish style, but nevertheless nice rooms. You could take a chair and seat outside your door, or go to wooden tables a bit further under... More

This was our first stay at this motel and had a pleasant surprise with our stay. First off, Chris the owner of the motel was very nice and easy to talk to. The motels exterior is well taken care of and the grounds were very clean and well take care of. We stayed in the efficiency room which had a... More

Great value, off-season getaway. Freshly updated, clean efficiencies. Located off the main drag to the beach, Maddox Blvd., this motel is in a more peaceful location and is walking distance to Main Street where Sugarbakers is a must for a morning pastry. Stayed here twice and will be back.

The Sea Shell Motel is a family owned motel with the expected decades-old decor and other unexpected delights. The staff is very friendly, everything is super clean and there are plenty of extras including a good-size pool and a lush lawn with picnic tables, a grill and plenty of space for games and children to play. We had a standard... More

We were coming to Chincoteague for a family reunion and The Sea Shell Motel was an obvious place to stay. We were unable to get rooms at the main facility, but rented two of Chris' Cottages. We were so glad we did. The cottages were clean and well supplied, each with a back deck and a large backyard with grill... More
