We stayed here the first day the motel opened for the season. The owners are wonderful and couldn't have been more helpful. Had a newly remodeled room. It is really nice. Although the weather wasn't the best, the motel was very nice. Would stay here again

Chincoteague is a very simple place to vacate. The scenery is amazing, the locals are nice and interesting. The restaurants are all good and varied on the island. We have stayed at Sea Shell for many years. It is very affordable, clean, maintained and staff and owners are nice, attentive (only when needed). The island is simple and so is... More

Just saying. The staff was very accommodating. We arrived at the crack of noon (check-in at 3 pm) and as I was trying to explain that I just needed to use their phone (thank you, MetroPCS), we were checked in. The room was more spacious than many "hotels" I've been to, and more importantly - clean. Or appeared so -... More

I booked this last minute for pony penning week and found the rates the best in the area. The room was clean however there was a little invasion of ants in the kitchenette that were a nuisance more than anything. The hot water was not the best but the convenience of the location -- within walking / biking distance to... More

we took a spontaneous trip and called about availability for two days, we got the last room for the weekend. This place is very clean, comfortable and affordable. The staff was very friendly. The grounds are very spread out with plenty of room to sit back and relax. We will definitely return to this motel. Before booking this motel I... More

We stayed at this hotel for Memorial Weekend. It was the worst thing we could have ever done. We had to find a place that would allow us to stay for 2 nights, not 3. So our choices were limited (which was disappointing since we couldn't get off work early enough Friday to get there). We had no hot water... More

We stayed in Chris Cottage. It was nice and relaxing. The place was clean and quiet and is an easy walk to groceries, restaurants and shopping. The cottages are a really short walk to the main hotel and pool. The only bad thing is that the bed has a really hard mattress.

We took a spontaneous trip to Chincoteague Island for the Fourth of July and our first trip as a nuclear family. The Sea Shell Motel is charming, very clean, and quiet. The flowers in front of the pool are beautiful. This is a great family spot as we made lots of friends at the pool, all very nice people! Great... More

This motel is a great value for this area. It's clean, comfortable and an easy walk to one of the main streets with grocery, restaurants and shops. You pretty much have to drive (or ride a bike) to the beaches since the only beach is on Assateague Island - so being close to the beach isn't that important here.

We had an efficiency. Perfect for us. very clean. Everything we could have wanted in a quiet getaway. Nice pool. Walking distance to shops. Dishes provided. Microwave and coffeemaker. Bring your own coffee though. No problem with that. Full-sized refrigerator.
