Snug Harbor provided our family with a delightful week of vacation. We stayed in the large brick family house behind the cottages. The house was clean as a whistle! The mattresses were quite good. Proprietors seem detail-oriented, and provided our every wish on time and with a smile. We especially liked the laid back feeling as we watched the sun... More

To us the best thing about Snug Harbor is that it is on the water away from the crowded tourist area. They have kayaks available to rent and offer boat tours but we were only there one night and the weather wasn't suitable for either. There were three of us so we had a one bedroom cabin, #9, with a... More

We went on a guided kayak tour with Snug Harbor about a month ago and we had so much fun that we decided to come back and stay at their cottages. It was an outstanding 4 days getaway! I cant even remember when we were able to relax as much as we did during our stay at Snug Harbor. Waterfront,... More

Prime location, but for the price, these cottages are not worth the cost. You cannot do any better for a location to launch your boat, crab off the dock, or enjoy the beauty of the area. That is really what you are paying for since the cottages are very outdated and could use some serious TLC. Fair value would be... More

I don't really want to be writing this review because I'd like keep this great place a secret to allow for easy booking in the future. But I just can't be that selfish. If you are looking for brand-spanking new rooms in an anticeptic setting that could be any hotel in just about any town, then don't come here. Snug... More

I had scoured the internet for places to go on my 41st birthday and it was getting closer and closer to the time and I was thinking "we're just gonna sit home on this one." Then I came across Snug Harbor. It isn't 5 star but they treated you like you were, the cottage was clean, comfy and we had... More

The location just across the sound from Assateague Island allows you to see ponies grazing from the marina, the light from Assateague light house, and beautiful sunrises. An afternoon drink on the dock with fellow travelers and locals was an added bonus. The owners, John and Basia, were warm and welcoming. I was vacationing alone, but felt very comfortable here.... My kayak group stayed there. Very clean and updated cabins, awesome service, charming atmosphere, great boat launch, incredible views of Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. The place is right across from the lighthouse. You can even see the wild ponies across the water. You can bring your own kayaks or rent from them. We will definitely return!

Snug Harbor is like a Caribbean Vacation in Virginia only better kayaking, fishing, swimming, at half the cost. Newly renovated Cottages with cooking facilities. You will love Chincoteague and you will love Snug Harbor.

Have been here before and enjoy the rustic ambiance of the cottages. Water views are right out the door, and the tiki bars give a nice tropical feel to the place. Basia and John were always pleasant. Our black Lab loved it, too. A lot of remodeling was done since our last stay. Updated kitchens, full size fridge, everything you... More
