We stayed at the Maddox Family campground, it has a great location. There sites were nice, all the facilities were neat and clean. I do wish they had WiFi. Staff was very nice and helpful. I would recommend staying there if you are in the area. Close to several good restaurants and fishing/activities.

For 15 years we have been an annual visitor to Chincoteague. Each time we have stayed at Maddox Family Campground. This place is well run by great people. the lots are grassy wooded and large. We are pop up campers and occasionally tent campers but there are accommodations for motorhomes as well. It is a short trip to the beach... More

Have been here several times the last few years. Once with my teenage daughter. My biggest concern was safety since it would be the two of us. In my opinion we felt very safe. Another time for a girls glamping trip- no issues. Several times with husband and family. Mr whippys ice cream truck comes through every night so that... More

We have been tent camping here during either the Fall or Springs for years; we come to bird watch. The one aspect of camping here that attracts us is the location; mid week during the off season we can set up our tent in an isolated spot fronting the Wildlife Refuge. However, we have found nothing else positive about this... More

We stayed there for the week of June 29-July 5. What a huge disappointment. It began upon check in. They tried giving us the wrong type of site. I paid for water, sewer, electric and cable. She said I couldn't have sewer and that sewer sites haven't been available for a while. I explained to her that I called the... More

After a 9 hour drive with a 30 foot Rig, Maddox saved the day. Our original campground (Pocomoke State Park) lied to us about our trailer being able to fit. Maddox was able to find us a site on July 3rd. The camp ground is very clean and well maintained. Bathrooms are clean, complete camp store, wood 5$ a bundle.... More

We have camped extensively and this campground is by far the worst we have ever experienced. First, it is ridiculously crowded. Campsites back completely up to the roads which are dangerous for pets and children, especially when people don't drive slowly. Campsites are also very small. Don't even think about staying here if you have to step foot in the... More

We stayed at Maddox June 20th - 27th with our small travel trailer. The park is quite large and very close to the nature preserve, just to the right of the circle. You can bike to several shops, restaurants and attractions as well as the nature preserve and the beach if you wish. Most of the travel trailer sites are... More
