My wife and I stayed at the 1848 Island Manor House for three nights over Labor Day week in 2015. The Inn is centrally located to everything on the island (not that the island is big enough to really worry about this, but still). We stayed in the Sandpiper room, which was plenty large and very comfortable. The bed was... More

My wife and I were down for our son's wedding and I can't say enough about the people who work here! Lin made sure that every detail of their wedding was perfect. Rachel took care of our family (which filled the whole house) as if we were her own family. And Shelby made sure our rooms were clean and she... More

Thanksgiving weekend getaway, great visit from start to finish. Our room was very comfortable. The home cooked breakfasts were elegant and delicious. We took three of the available bikes for a ride out to the refuge and beach, allowing us to avoid taking our car at all during the weekend-- a huge relax factor for us. A few restaurants and... I had some time off from work and wanted to get away to relax. I stayed here for 2 nights by myself. Rachel was so friendly and made one feel totally at home. She showed me around and helped make a reservation on one of the boat tours. I treated myself to tea -- what a spread. Scrumptious sweets and... More

My husband and I came down for an off season look at the ponies and booked a room (coastal breeze) for 2 nights. A friendly greeting from Rachel and a quick tour was not didappointing. Access is given to anything, from bikes to bug spray to snacks. The rooms are beautiful and clean and an entire suite bathroom was included... More

My husband and I were fortunate enough to snag a room here for two nights on short notice (day of!). Rachel made sure we had everything we needed and served a beautiful breakfast including fresh fruit and apple-stuffed French toast. The room. Also provided were towels and bicycles and other beach items free for our use. I highly recommend this... More

The inn managed to walk that fine line of B and B style -- making you feel at home and in a casual space that is your own, while treating you as treasured guests. We enjoyed everything from the decor and our room to the great breakfasts and the special afternoon tea with some of the yummiest tea goodies I've... More

My wife and I spent a mini-honeymoon here and could not have been happier. Because we arrived after hours, we were greeted with a personal note and flower petals on our bed. The next morning we had mimosas (since we arrived after hours to get our champagne) and a superb breakfast. Each morning's meal was a work of art--sometimes literally,... More

My wife an I stayed here this labor day weekend, in the Sandpiper room, and we have to agree with every other review on this site, that this is by far the best place we have stayed. We've traveled to Europe and throughout California, but this 1848 Island Manor house takes the cake. We felt very welcome, check-in was a... More

All the rooms are nice. Our tradition is to stay in the one named "Nathaniel Smith." I forgot to ask the origin of the name, but no matter, it is very pleasant and comfortable. The atmosphere, though elegant, is very relaxed, much more like being home than in an hotel. Breakfast is always gourmet--we have now partaken of five morning... More
