The house has a 4-bed-dorm, a twin and a double, all at great prices and simple but nicely done up. The house has got a homely feel, there's coffee, tea, toast and jam for guests' use; the only downside when fully booked (potentially, there were 4 of us when I was there) could maybe be that there's only one bathroom... more

The Alexander House is a perfect combination of small country inn and inexpensive hostel. Located, just 5 blocks from the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville, the Alexander House has a great location in the historic Belmont neighborhood.
