This is the worst hotel I have stayed at in a very long time. The first impression is deceiving. The outside of the building looks a little old, but the lobby is bright and clean. This is the last bright or clean thing you will see. The set-up looks like a third-rate motel. Each room looks out to a motel-style... more

This hotel's motel-style outdoor room entry is troublesome. The hotel is located on a main road in a fairly populated part of the University of Virginia and it can be noisy, drafty, or both. The room was clean but the decor was straight out of 1971. Also, the lighting was extremely difficult: There was no light switch near the entrance,... more

We booked this hotel on Best Western's website and recieved a discount. But that should have alerted us right then. The rooms looked clean on the surface upon walking in but that changed right away. The furniture was old and scratched, and the blankets and sheets smelled very badly. The TV looked alright, but half the channels were fuzzy. The... more

This particular Best Western is in serious need of refurbishment and not up to their normal standard. Luckily we were only there for one night. They had no record of our booking on arrival, although I had an e-mail confirmation, however they had rooms available. Room was acceptable but again in need of a make-over. Reception staff were helpful and... more

I pulled in on a Saturaday around 4pm and the first thing I noticed when getting out of the car was a 'stinky' smell. I picked this hotel as I was traveling with 3 high school kids checking out colleges. I had read it was within walking distance to the University of Virginia and to me...was reasonably priced. We were... more

Very disappointed in the cleanliness of this room. As a matter of fact, this was the dirtiest hotel room my family and I have stayed in. There was trash left under the desk from a previous guest, an unknown yellow liquid on the side of the tub and floor, and hair all over the floors. I would never stay here... more

We visited the Cavalier Inn during a brief trip to Charlottesville/Monticello and enjoyed our stay very much. The property was easy to find (even after dark) and every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The Inn is right near the heart of the the UVA campus (an easy 10 minute walk to the Rotunda) and within easy reach... more

We were originally going to stay at the Hamptom Inn, but decided to save a few bucks and get a more convenient location by switching to the Best Western. It was, all in all, fine. The hotel is very convenient to the campus, and about 10 minutes from Monticello. The room was pretty much as expected -- clean, the usual... more

We stayed as tourists and the hotel was conveniently located for this. Its on R29 at Ivy, and from there it's about a 10-minute walk to the magnificent Rotunda at the university (worth a visit in its own right). From there, the free 'trolley' will take you about another mile east to the downtown area. The hotel is hard on... more

We stayed at the Best Western Cavalier Inn while we were in Charlottesville for a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at the arena. The location was perfect! Closer to the arena than some of the parking, which you had to pay $16 for. The room was nice for a 2 star hotel. Clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet! The hotel was... more
