The bucolic setting is very relaxing; having grown up in a rural environment the sound of crowing roosters was a welcome form of alarm clock. As noted by the other reviewers, the fresh breakfast components were an interesting approach; the Cohens operate without staff, and it's fun to concoct something from the ingredients they provide, The biggest surprise proved to... We just spent Graduation Weekend at the Rooster Hill Bed & Breakfast. We could not have asked for a more perfect weekend. Both rooms were so inviting and comfortable. The Cohens have thought of everything that you might need. They even had games tucked away in a cabinet for family fun. Loved the fresh eggs, milk, and orange juice. Immediately... More

We came across this bed and breakfast online when looking for a quiet weekend getaway. This was a perfect fit to what we were looking for. It was quiet, comfortable and very private. We loved the idea of preparing our own breakfast with the fresh eggs, orange juice, homemade bread and jam. It is close to all the nearby attractions... More

My review is late, my apologies. My neice and I spent a couple of nights at Rooster Hill in April 2013. The location is tranquil. The room was very clean, comfortable and cozy. Larry and Dina were lovely hosts, providing us with fresh eggs from their own hens as well as freshly baked bread and breakfast items. They were gracious... More

We spent two nights at the Rooster Hill B & B. It was our last stay on a two week road road trip through the southeastern US. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Larry and Dina were a wonderful hosts. They gave us the most wonderful homemade bread, juice, milk and farm fresh eggs. The accommodations are lovely... More

I largely picked this B&B based on the reviews left by other visitors here on trip advisor. I must say they are very accurate and I was not disappointed at all. We stayed in room #2 which was very clean and well maintained. The grounds were well maintained and the chickens were a joy to visit and feed. Larry and... More

We spent the weekend at Rooster Hill and thoroughly enjoyed this bed and breakfast. Larry was very helpful with ideas for hiking, excursions and dinner. He left several local papers so we could see what was going on in the area. The room was great with a private entrance, sitting area, comfortable bedding, stocked kitchenette and cute bathroom. The first... More

Our room at the Rooster Hill B&B was immaculately clean, and it was a very large, serviceable space offering a sitting area, a dining area, and a good-sized bathroom. We were delighted that there was no television; the innkeepers work hard at keeping their grounds beautifully maintained, and they provide many books and brochures/directions/pamphlets about the Charlottesville area. They have... More

Our family of three stayed in the lower larger room, and found it very comfortable. Our daughter particularly enjoyed collecting eggs from the hens, and watching the new chicks. Larry was a welcoming but not hovering host - made sure we had everything and then gave us our privacy. It is about a 20 min drive from Charlottesville or Monticello.... More

A friend and I stayed at Rooster Hill for a weekend when there were no rooms available in Charlottesville proper. We were pleasantly surprised with the beautiful atmosphere, the clean and well-appointed room, and the wonderful home-baked bread, jam, and fresh eggs for breakfast. The reason I am only giving it 4 stars is that we could hear people upstairs... More
