In the area hiking and needed a clean, inexpensive, convenient, safe motel. The motel is in a convenient, safe location on Route 29; lots of food and shops nearby. It's an older property and from a distance looks OK. On closer inspection, the outside needs some cosmetic attention as did my room. Although clean, there was paint cracked and hanging... more

The room was clean, hot water worked and good water pressure. The beds felt fine and the sheets and bedspread were clean. There weren't too many other travelers there that weekend and the location felt safe. The heater worked great...a little too hot but it was easy to adjust. more

I really enjoyed my last stay at Red Carpet. I have stayed in this red carpet a couple of times in the past and was satisfied, but not impressed. The rooms used to be very dark and had an old knights theme to it, but the new rooms are quite nice. The staff seemed friendly and the modern furniture (not... more

When I got there the place was on lock down. The police was in full force with shot guns in hand. I was meeting some one there and they were already there in a room so I waited about 1/2 hour before I could get in. After I got in I was told there was a altertation at the check... more

I was very impressed with this economy hotel. The Inn has been fully remodeled and was very clean and bright. The Hotel staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and were able to help me in finding all the destenations I have to visit in the Charlottesville area. This hotel is a great value for the money. more

I landed in this place when the Super 8 down the block mysteriously 'cancelled' my online booking the day before I got there. Red Carpet? Horrid! I literally cried when I realized how awful this place was. From the outside, not too bad. Inside? I stripped the bedspread off and slept in my clothes on top of the sheets. Refused... more

Although this Hotel has had bad reviews in the past, I have stayed many times and never had a problem. Most of the rooms have now been completely redecorated.-The only criticism I have is the level of lighting! The staff were genuinely helpful with a couple of problems that I encountered. The reception staff are always friendly and obliging. This... more

I have stayed here a few times because I like the convenient location and the medieval theme of the rooms. The rooms are usually dim and somewhat dirty with minor repairs needed. But on the last occasion I did not get one of the better rooms. There was a hole in the wall the size of someone's fist which I... more

I called around to many different Hotels but this was the only one in town with a free room after looking on the web site i decided it did not look too bad and booked my room.. "BIG MISTAKE" as soon as i walked into my non smoking room that smelled of smoke and who knows what else i noticed... more

This place is beyond disgusting. There are bed bugs everywhere, dampness in the room, everything smells, everything is old. I did not have to try hard to imagine what had gone on in there before I graced the room, there was plenty of evidence on hand. Do not stay here it is beyond horrifying and what's most absurd is the... more
