Stayed here for one night - a Tuesday night - in September 2009. The hotel looked recently renovated, probably within the past 2 years. Fairly smart interior design. Beds were comfortable. CON: Have to pay for wireless internet (I HATE that). PRO: Shower worked and bathrooms and nice looking "faux" wood floors CON: No working fan in the bathroom. CON:... more

Pro - Fairly clean room, as per the norm for a room of this cost. Pro - Located right on the Univ corner, which has a free trolly, and some cool restaraunts Pro - Pet friendly hotel Cons - Everything else. The website advertises 'free wi-fi'. This is not the case, unless you are a pre-existing T-Mobile user. You can... more

This hotel is well located on the free trolly, close to the University "Corner" and less than a mile from downtown. My king room had modern/recent furnishings, including a good desk, and also a refrigerator (not very cold) and a microwave, though the room & hall carpet had some permanent-looking stains. The heating/cooling unit had a constant, rather loud fan... more

I recently stayed at the Red Roof Inn two nights and really enjoyed my stay. The rate we paid was very reasonable and far below other hotels in the area. Although not luxurious, the hotel was very clean, the room was very large and comfortable, parking was free and easy, and the a/c was easy to control and worked well.... more

I stayed at this hotel on July 14th, 2008 in order to attend a seminar the next day down the street at the Omni Hotel. I chose it because of its proximity to the Omni, and the rates were decent. This place is a little hard to find having no outside sign on the street, only in the actual check... more

Stayed at the Red Roof Inn for 2 days in June 2007. This is basic hotel. Not expensive and don't expect much. Room was clean, but bathroom smelled moldy or musty. Staff is not friendly at all. I had to actually go behind the counter and call a taxi myself, using their phone. The person behind the desk did hand... more

I was 'put up' at this hotel for a job interview. I stayed with my husband and my dog. The staff was very nice and the hotel was quiet; HOWEVER: I requested a non-smoking room and the room they gave me was designated non smoking but it STUNK like smoke and mold. It was on the top floor and every... more

Maybe my biggest problem was that I had previously stayed at the (new) Hampton Inn about two or three blocks down the road. In any case, I stayed at the Red Roof Inn because it has - without question - the best location in terms of UVA and the nearly village shops. Unfortunately, location is all that this hotel has... more

I hope to save a few relationships by writing this review of the Red Roof Inn on Main Street in Charlottesville. He wanted an inexpensive place to stay where he could sleep and shower. She didn't want to spend a mint, but most of all she wanted to be comfortable. The chairs in the room were soiled with some sort... more
