We so enjoyed our two short days at the Dinsmore House Inn! Our room was beautiful, the food was delicious and the Innkeepers Mark and Mary felt like old friends from the moment we met them. We have stayed at many B and B's through the years and have never had as positive an experience. I strongly recommend this Bed... More

My husband and I spent 4 nights/5 days in Charlottesville, VA to relax and visit many wineries. The innkeepers at the Dinsmore B&B (Mark and Mary) were VERY hospitable, compassionate and friendly. It felt as if we were visiting a private friends home. The daily breakfast menu was delicious. The room was well tended to and anything you needed, Mark... More

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was very comfortable. When I made one very minor comment to the owner it was immediately addressed and appreciated. That being said I have absolutely no complaints. The building is very old but in good shape with a lovely colonial character. Breakfasts were yummy and Mark and Mary couldn't have been friendlier... We rented out the entire B&B for our wedding party. It was amazing. The breakfasts were delicious, the lunch hour they organized for us was incredible, and the service was truly impeccable. Would recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone staying in Charlottesville or getting married and looking for a "home base" for wedding operations that weekend.

We spent two nights here at the start of our vacation in Virginia. Dinsmore House was built in 1817 and the old house has survived and nestles in the middle of more modern development. The present owners bought it and converted it into a b&b which has been operating since 2003. We had a great stay here. The veranda room... More

We just spent two nights at the Dinsmore House and could not be more pleased. Convenient location to everything in the Charlottesville area, walking or driving. We visited Monticello, Ash Lawn and the Mitchie Tavern, the Downtown Mall was a mile walk and had lots of great shops, restaurants and theaters. At the end of the Mall there is an... More

We were not quite sure what to expect when we arrived having read a variety of reviews for the Dinsmore but i have to say i thoroughly enjoyed our stay We arrived during the daily social hour they hold (16.00 - 18.00 ) and were greeted by a very friendly member of staff and a glass of wine with cheeses... Thank you Mr. Barnett for taking the time to write review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at the Dinsmore House. Most of the negative reviews you read stemmed from a 3 year period when there was a major construction project (children's hospital) next door. We are happy to say the construction ended several months ago, the hospital is... More

We stayed at the Dinsmore Inn in June while on a short getaway trip to see Monticello. We enjoyed our stay. The inn is within an easy walk of UVa and the downtown mall. Monticello is just a short drive away. There are plenty of restaurants close to the inn. Our room was quite comfortable with a window AC which... More

Would never stay here again! Our first welcome experience was the mother of the owner barking through the intercom to go away and come back in an hour at 4 pm when check in starts (she had a terrible attitude throughout the stay) . What can i say, zero attention to detail: old room, curtains that dont work, no clothes... More

After a visit to Monticello on a sunny spring day, we made our way to the Dinsmore House, home of Jefferson's master builder. We loved the house and our room, and the overall experience including a very nice breakfast on the sun porch. The staff was friendly and professional. Our only complaint - when you arrive it's not clear where... More
