I've stayed here a few times now. It's an adequate, well-located hotel but nothing special. On this visit I had to change rooms because of maintenance issues (a broken refrigerator constantly clicking), but the front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. My second room was fine with no major cleanliness or maintenance problems. However, for some reason the hotel... More

Location, Location, Location says it all. It is in the heart of UVA territory. We were able to walk to the John Paul Jones concert hall and also walk to other stores and restaurants. There is a nice Diner in front of the hotel also which was nice. We felt very safe in that area. Our room was clean and... More

We had a late afternoon Doctors apt. and just didn't want to do a 3hour drive back at night. So we made reservations the night before using our "hotels.com" points. ($48.00) One must understand that these are OLD HOTELS renovations can only do so much, and of course this is a University town. Our room was clean and quite, the... More

Lobby pretty. People working there were very nice and extremely helpful. Very convenient. Unfortunately, rooms were gross... Found ticket stubs dated 2 months prior under bed (along with piles of other garbage and dust). Mold on walls. Heat system totally messed up-no fresh air and the vent in the bathroom where air came out was so dust clogged that it... More

The room was ok but was overpriced at a final bill of $109.00. When we went to bed, the heat was set at 68 which seemed fine. In the morning, when I got up, it felt cold so I checked the heat and it said 59. I tried to adjust the heat but it would not go above 62 and... More

This hotel is an older building but has been renovated very nicely with updated decorations. It's not one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in but for the money it's worth it! It is located within walking distance of the john Paul arena. The staff are very friendly and helpful, I would stay here again!

Actually, it’s an old fashioned looking motel, but the rooms have been remodeled to be something more along late 90’s style. But you actually go up in the elevator and then have to go outdoors on the terrace to enter your room (at least on the back side). Those weird hangars on hoops. Kind of a time warp. The beds... The hotel is fine. Average. Nothing special, nothing great. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and this one will not make any kind of impression one way or another. But beware. I booked this hotel through a travel web site and specifically searched for hotels with an airport shuttle. Though they ended up paying for cabs, it was not... More

Was in Charlottesville to celebrate wedding anniversary. The Cavalier Inn has been remodeled since my last visit. Looks great, and love the new decor. As usual room was clean and spacious. All the staff was very friendly. Another guest was arriving at the same time and was feeling ill. Front desk person called for the GM who along with the... More
