We spent only one night at this hotel (we should say motel) and we didn't really like it. It's like a running down hotel. The rate is very high. The services is okay. The room is aging. Bathroom needs some major renovation. We chose this one only because we thought it was convenient. We believe there are many other better... More

The location couldn't have been better for doing research at the library and special collections building. The room was clean and, on the 3rd floor, quiet. Breakfast in the morning was delicious with lots of options. My only complaint was that the tv picture was snowy but still watchable. I'll definitely stay here again on my next research trip. The... Run by the University of Virginia, this hotel is right next to the campus. It is within walking distance of different University departments, the Jefferson Rotunda, and shopping malls. As a three-day guest from abroad with no car this location was ideal. The rooms maintenance is average but functional. Room (No. 221) was quiet. Breakfast always had several options. There... More

We stayed here for my son's wedding at the UVA chapel. You can't beat the location for getting to the chapel and could easily walk to and from The Corner. The staff was friendly and allowed us to check in early so we could relax and enjoy the rehearsal dinner. The breakfast was good and convenient. We have stayed here... More

I've stayed at the Cavalier Inn several times for weekends in Charlottesville. It is always clean and well maintained. It has a helpful staff, great location, and a consistent free breakfast. Really you get what you pay for - It is an old motel with some sides enclosed now - don't expect a 5 star hotel. This past stay was... More

My husband and I stayed at the Cavalier for two nights while on our "babymoon" in Charlottesville. Although the hotel is conveniently located to UVA's campus and near stops for the free downtown trolley, we were appalled by the service. We had the "Do Not Disturb" sign on our door from about 12:30 until 1 or 1:30pm while we ate... More

We found it to be a nice hotel. We checked in by a friendly staff. Went up to a very clean room. Staff was very friendly from the front desk to the rest of the staff. It was a great location. Close to Monticello.

The Cavalier Inn near the University of Virginia is an older hotel with a great location. After that it goes downhill. The AC in our room could not be adjusted. It is just an outdated hotel with a friendly staff but needs a lot of upgrades to raise the level of comfort. The location is perfect but that is all... More

This hotel was good if wanting to stay on university campus region, it served a very good breakfast, a nice swimming pool which was clean, the room was decent enough and beds comfy enough also . no complaints , just slightly in need of an update.

this is the first time I stayed at this hotel and it was fairly nice. the night staff at that night was not too friendly, but the morning staff was very good. room was very clean and comfortable. great swim pool, great for lap swimming. wish it was closer to the university, but next to a nice café.
