This hotel was good if wanting to stay on university campus region, it served a very good breakfast, a nice swimming pool which was clean, the room was decent enough and beds comfy enough also . no complaints , just slightly in need of an update.

this is the first time I stayed at this hotel and it was fairly nice. the night staff at that night was not too friendly, but the morning staff was very good. room was very clean and comfortable. great swim pool, great for lap swimming. wish it was closer to the university, but next to a nice café.

This is my 2nd stay at this hotel & I agree with most of the prior reviews: nothing fancy, but you just can beat the location and proximity to UVA and Charlottesville amenities. The room was clean, except the vents could use a good vacuuming and the walls are quite thin. Breakfast was good, but really missing fresh fruit. Staff... More

This is a two star hotel, so I wasn't expecting a whole lot from it, and you shouldn't either. Our room was about $90 for a weeknight, and I would say it was worth that. The biggest advantage of the hotel is that it is near UVA, in walking distance to the Corner, and accessible via shuttle to the Downtown... More

The hotel is clean and well-kept, and the lobby and rooms are beautiful. There are some puzzlers, such as no soap dish in the shower or at the sink at all. The rooms are not very large, but they are nice. The hallways reflect the age of the building, but they are just hallways. The room keys are contact keys,... More

Hello Frederick Maryland, We appreciate you taking time to let us know about your stay, the locks we have are the newest available on the market, we do try and maintain a health balance on our breakfast bar with eggs, bacon, turkey sausage, some vegan products and gluten free items as well, not all find those thing appealing but we... I stayed here for 4 nights and was surprised to find upon returning on the third day that housekeeping had not even entered my room that day! Bed was unmade, trash not emptied, and towels not replaced. I complained to the front desk and the woman working that evening was very friendly and brought up fresh towels. But I still... More

We visited Charlottesville on the July 4th weekend. It was a spur of the moment trip with no reservations, so we were pleased to find a place that was not only accommodating, but close to everything we wanted to do. The room was clean with all the amenities we needed, including a fridge and microwave. The breakfast was good with... More

The staff were nice and allowed us to check in early due to a long car ride. However when I opened the door to the room I was very disappointed. There was a dead spider stuck to the wall and the ceiling above my sons bed had huge brown stains and looked like I was going to collapse. The bed... More

One of the nicest group of people work at this hotel. I've stayed here twice, and both times had great service. It's an older hotel, so the rooms aren't 5 star, but the linens are crisp and clean, bathroom clean (tub/shower shows age), and everything works. I'd stay again.

We have stayed at the Cavalier Inn at least a half a dozen times over the past 5 years. The rooms are always clean and the staff are always pleasant. The free breakfast had a great selection, too. We have stayed in both the double queen and the handicapped-accessible rooms, and have been very pleased with both. There are only... More
