I stayed here on my first visit to UVA and enjoyed the hotel, so I wanted to stay here again on my second visit but in a different room to see if the room would be similar. I thought the room was just as good the second time around as the first. We had 2 double beds with big, fluffy... More

I don't understand some of the negative comments about this hotel. It is nicely done out with comfy clean rooms. The breakfast was better than the average free breakfast. The location was pretty good for the university but you need to use the, free, bus for downtown (every 15 minutes) The hotel doesn't charge for premium service but it gives... More

I stayed at this hotel about two weeks ago. It isn't a hotel, really. It's a motel with a partially enclosed fifth floor. The hotel has a workout room, but it was a spartan facility. The elevators were fairly slow, and one of the elevators contained the persistent, ripe smell of stale sweat. The room was clean. Linens were spare.... More

This hotel was more like a converted motel, and the decor was rather shabby. Breakfast was free, but on the second morning we opted to go to the diner next door, which was much better. All in all, not a pleasant stay, although we loved the area.

The Cavalier Inn is on the University of Virginia Campus. A great hotel when visiting students or sightseeing in Charlottesville. Friendly staff, especially Tracy at front desk and Beatrice in housekeeping! Rooms are spacious and clean. Nice breakfast, although the fruit truck never came so it was cereal and waffles. Great, convenient place to stay. Our plans were to stay... More

A group of us stayed in 3 rooms total over Labor Day weekend for the UVA football game, a yearly tradition for us. We have in the past stayed at a lower tier hotel but we decided on the cavalier inn this year and we will no longer stay anywhere else when in Charlottesville. As soon as we checked in... More

We spent only one night at this hotel (we should say motel) and we didn't really like it. It's like a running down hotel. The rate is very high. The services is okay. The room is aging. Bathroom needs some major renovation. We chose this one only because we thought it was convenient. We believe there are many other better... More

The location couldn't have been better for doing research at the library and special collections building. The room was clean and, on the 3rd floor, quiet. Breakfast in the morning was delicious with lots of options. My only complaint was that the tv picture was snowy but still watchable. I'll definitely stay here again on my next research trip. The... Run by the University of Virginia, this hotel is right next to the campus. It is within walking distance of different University departments, the Jefferson Rotunda, and shopping malls. As a three-day guest from abroad with no car this location was ideal. The rooms maintenance is average but functional. Room (No. 221) was quiet. Breakfast always had several options. There... More

We stayed here for my son's wedding at the UVA chapel. You can't beat the location for getting to the chapel and could easily walk to and from The Corner. The staff was friendly and allowed us to check in early so we could relax and enjoy the rehearsal dinner. The breakfast was good and convenient. We have stayed here... More
