This is a basic hotel, so as long as you expect nothing more than a clean place to rest up, you should be satisfied. Our room was clean all the way through. My only 2 complaints are (i) I wish they'd use brighter bulbs - the halls and the bathroom were not well lit; and (ii) I wish the towels... more

Staff treats the guests like criminals trying to rob the joint. Key cards fail daily. The whole place is dingy and smelly. The A/C sounds like a jet taking off...try sleeping through that. Probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. more

I never had the "pleasure" of staying at this hotel. I arrived on a Friday evening and had booked a two night stay online. When I went to check in they had no reservation for me. I had my paperwork with me and gave them the confirmation number. They looked it up. They said I cancelled it the day before.... more

The only way we would stay here again is if we were driving through Charlottesville in a blizzard and we were on the verge of freezing to death. Even then, I 'd have to think about it! This very old motel needs to be shut down. The carpet in the hallways is stained, the lighting is minimal and it smells. The... more

Stay away from this dump. I stayed here one night and that was more then enough for me. This place just felt dirty from the get go. The bathroom was so dirty looking I didn't even take a shower in there. The particle board dresser was falling apart from what looked like water damage. The room was hot when I... more

The beds are like jello, the service is a rude Indian guy, the place is filthy, overlooking a vacant lot where there is apparently a lot of drug activity, as police lights were flashing into our room at 3 am. Rude staff, dirty, DUMP! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! more

I really wish I had initially paid attention to other reviews stating this hotel often books non smoking rooms but upon arrival will only give you a smoking room! I booked one night at this hotel months in advance for a non smoking room, planning to travel to charlottesville for the marathon/half marathon. I am glad I decided to call... more

I should start with the positive. The Super 8 Charlottesville is close to campus (10 min drive or so), the staff was helpful, and the cleaning people did a great job of cleaning the room, providing new soap and towels. Oh, and there was a big new TV. The bad: The neighborhood and clientele were dodgy. The lobby was dingy,... more

I was looking for a safe, clean, inexpensive motel. I checked hotel reviews and decided to give Super 8 a try. Here are the good apects of this motel: Seems to be safe, fairly clean, great rate ($50), very nice front desk staff, comfortable bed, breakfast very light with mini donuts, English muffins, coffee, tea, juice avail 6am-9am but I... more

Super 8 in Charlottesville looks like one of your typical older, well worn low end hotels and on first glance that's all it is. But our experience was very satisfying. The staff is absolutely wonderful. The nice lady (Jean) at the front desk was warm and welcoming. The housekeeping staff was friendly and attentive. The fresh coffee, juice and light... more
