We recently visited UVa with our teenaged daughter and needed a place to stay. After reading review after review of various hotels/motels in the area of the university, I went with the Hampton Inn and Suites, and I would recommend it to any family making the college visitation or anyone else, for that matter! Rooms were a nice size and... more

I've read the reviews - that's why I stayed there. I think if you are coming for a casual visit (or to visit the campus) then this place works. If you are coming for business this isn't where you want to stay. It isn't a bad hotel but they aren't prepared for business clients. The place feels old and the... more

We stayed here while visiting the wine and garlic festival. The festival was ok, but this Hampton Inn was great. The accomodations were exceeded only by the staff, who were the best I have ever encountered. If you are in the area, definitely plan to stay here. more

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel during the month of August 2007. We redeemed Hilton Honors points for a 1 night stay. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a King Suite ---- talk about a LARGE room!! Separate kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathoom. We left the room for a short while after check-in and upon returning to... more

Room #307***This is a very nicely appointed hotel, beautiful lobby area, attractive, well-equipped business desk and location, location, location. Basically ON campus with great service, professional staff and very good breakfast. Hotels for me however are for resting/sleeping while travelling. Sleeping means quiet. (Tsk, tsk just one of my little quirks.......) Elevator noise, excess corridor noise, and heliport (maybe on... more

I stayed at this Hampton Inn while visiting a friend at UVA Hospital. I found it a wonderful hotel. The front desk people were friendly and helpful, all the employees were wonderful--even the housekeeping staff took time to stop and say hello, how are you. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was a bit crowded due to a... more

Travelling to Charlottesville for business, I selected the Hampton Inn because of its proximity to downtown. After making my reservation, I thought everything was ready. When I arrived at the hotel about 20 minutes prior to check-in time, I was informed that my room had a late check out and would not be availabe until around 6PM that evening! I... more

Ok, so it is a chain hotel and is a safe choice for those who want familiarity. I wouldn't call this hotel particularly elegant but it is clean and well located for visitors to the area. We walked into the main are of Charlottesville (about a 15 minute walk along the well lit and busy Main Street). We had a... more
