We stayed in the "cottage" (house right next to the Inn) This is a wonderful location in Cville close to UVA and to the pedestrian market place. We stayed in Room #20. We will definitely go back. The room we has was very spacious with a separate sitting area (TV room). and has a pull out sofa queen size. The... More

Wonderful location and friendly welcoming staff. You can enjoy your fellow inn-residents at the breakfasts and afternoon wine and cheese or simply relax on the porch or in the library. Leave your car at the inn and enjoy easy walking distance to the center of town. Yes...you will hear the train (runs behind the inn) but it didn't bother me.... More

This inn is very near the downtown area of Charlottesville so very handy for walking to restaurants etc. There is sufficient parking and just next door is a railway line, so you may hear occasional trains at night, but this didn't bother us. Large home-baked cookies and coffee are available in the reception area - very welcome after a long... More

Wonderful staff, great breakfast, location is perfect for enjoying Charlottesville. This is my second stay and I will definitely be back! What an oasis of calm, beauty, tranquility. For those who enjoy a less conventional hotel, this is perfect.

Loved room #5, although get it while you can since the rumor is that it will be made into a reception area. Queen bed, (several kings available) right in the front of the house on the ground floor, away from the train tracks (as is room #6). Big bath; nice fireplace. Ice machine available down stairs, but no fridge in... More

Stayed 3 nights with some friends. Ideal location, friendly staff, great evening reception. Rooms are comfortable and in good working order. There are trains but we were not bothered, leaving the AC fan on. The last night some late people slamming doors was a bit bothersome but that is the life of a B&B. We would return.

This hotel was so charming and welcoming. We arrived a little late but we're greater very warmly, helped with parking, shown our rooms and offered homemade cookies. Our rooms were so nice and comfortable. We were so close to nice shopping and restaurants. Just wish we could have stayed longer.

We stayed here a Thursday and Friday night, to be close to both the town and to Monticello. Stayed on the top floor, so quite quiet. Passing trains did not bother us. We did not hear bar noise. Lovely porch and outdoor tables for eating breakfast. Delicious home baked goods plus home made granola, fruit, and yogurt. We stayed in... More

regarding the train noise, there is nothing nostalgic about this as other reviewers have said. They are very large, very long freight trains that pass by 3-4 times in the night and the whole room, bed and windows vibrate. Then there are the people leaving the bars and restaurant opposite and adjacent at 3:15 in the morning, following which at... More

Thank you for taking the time to write about your stay with us. I’m sorry that we didn't meet your expectations. We are an urban property and with that comes some noise of the city. We mention the train on our website on the rooms that are most affected by the noise. There are definitely variables that I can address... More

In a recent visit to Charlottesville, VA, tried this beautiful little Inn for the first time and I had the most pleasant and cozy stay. Starting from my arrival - when I was offered a complimentary glass of white Virginian wine by the very nice front desk staff - everything about this place made me feel good. They have fast... More
