We live about an hour south of Charlottesville. Periodically we like to have dinner at The Melting Pot. We drive up and stay over to make it a mini getaway. I chose the inn because of location. It is close to UVA and the downtown Mall. The melting Pot is 4 blocks over. We parked our car and walked. The... More

We stayed here for a friend's wedding and loved it. They give you chocolate chip cookies whenever you want and the rooms were really nice. Everyone there was super helpful. The free daily wine and cheese was a huge plus. We never made it to breakfast so I can't speak to that. Also, they have free parking.

My husband and I visited for the first time and really enjoyed ourselves. The Inn is very convenient to the downtown mall area and its many restaurants and shops. The Inn itself is fine. It is historic, so yes its not going to be as lavish as the Hyatt down the road. We stayed in Room 17 in the cottage... More

The inn is charming, with freshly baked cookies available 24/7, helpful staff and a delicious wine and cheese reception each evening from 5:00-6:30. Breakfast includes breads, homemade granola, fruit, yogurt and a variety of hot and cold drinks. Our room was in the second building next door to the main building. The room had a queen bed, flat screen TV,... More

loved this place, so friendly on the phone making my reservation, suggested the most romantic and lovely spot for us since it was off season, we got an exceptional deal, and on arrival had the cookies, then wine and cheese, and despite the freezing weather we were comfy walking to dinner and back to our fire-warmed room with the whirlpool... My husband (of 40 years!) and I go out of our way to find charming BnB's when we travel -- and we LUCKED in to this one. I called as we were on I-64 and snagged a canceled room over the Christmas holidays. We checked in with DELIGHTFUL Liz, who offered to extend the wine and cheese til we got... More

Great staff. Enjoyed the location for walking around. Loved the afternoon wine and cheese. Very clean and well taken care of. Would definitely stay there again. Nice porch to sit and enjoy breakfast and wine in the afternoon. Easy walk to the downtown mall with lots of places to eat and shop.

Welcoming wine and cheese in the evening.Right across the street from the beutiful open air mall and dozens of restaurants.Service is great and everyone incredibly friendly. And... More

Reason for not giving 5 stars was that the breakfast nook is very small and the downstairs "dining room" was uncomfortable (chairs and cold and dusty). Everyone who worked there was wonderfully friendly and helpful. Their recommendations of restaurants and trails were great. Value of $110/night was excellent...$255 for New Years Eve was high!
