This hotel was so charming and welcoming. We arrived a little late but we're greater very warmly, helped with parking, shown our rooms and offered homemade cookies. Our rooms were so nice and comfortable. We were so close to nice shopping and restaurants. Just wish we could have stayed longer.

We stayed here a Thursday and Friday night, to be close to both the town and to Monticello. Stayed on the top floor, so quite quiet. Passing trains did not bother us. We did not hear bar noise. Lovely porch and outdoor tables for eating breakfast. Delicious home baked goods plus home made granola, fruit, and yogurt. We stayed in... More

regarding the train noise, there is nothing nostalgic about this as other reviewers have said. They are very large, very long freight trains that pass by 3-4 times in the night and the whole room, bed and windows vibrate. Then there are the people leaving the bars and restaurant opposite and adjacent at 3:15 in the morning, following which at... More

Thank you for taking the time to write about your stay with us. I’m sorry that we didn't meet your expectations. We are an urban property and with that comes some noise of the city. We mention the train on our website on the rooms that are most affected by the noise. There are definitely variables that I can address... More

In a recent visit to Charlottesville, VA, tried this beautiful little Inn for the first time and I had the most pleasant and cozy stay. Starting from my arrival - when I was offered a complimentary glass of white Virginian wine by the very nice front desk staff - everything about this place made me feel good. They have fast... More

My wife and I spent two nights here recently and had a wonderful time. The staff is terrific. They want to make sure you have a pleasant stay. Clean rooms, large comfortable beds, antique furniture, gas fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, and delicious home-made cookies as big as your hand are provided in this large antebellum home. The continental breakfasts feature a... More

Amazing location in Charlottesville. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! Thanks for the great stay and we're sure to come back in the future. The room we stayed in was located at the back of the building and close to the train tracks. It was noticeable when the train came through but was almost nostalgic.

This Inn is located one block from the walking mall where there are many good shops and restaurants. A couple drove 4 hours for a concert which was canceled very late. The inn did not to charge them when they chose to turn around and go home. A loss for the inn, but very generous of them. They will get... More

My wife and I came down to Charlottesville specifically to see the Steep Canyon Rangers perform at the Jefferson. My wife had made reservations and our room was #6 in the main house. This is on the front side of the house on the first floor. The location is FANTASTIC and there is ample on-site parking. We had a two-block... More

We live about an hour south of Charlottesville. Periodically we like to have dinner at The Melting Pot. We drive up and stay over to make it a mini getaway. I chose the inn because of location. It is close to UVA and the downtown Mall. The melting Pot is 4 blocks over. We parked our car and walked. The... More

We stayed here for a friend's wedding and loved it. They give you chocolate chip cookies whenever you want and the rooms were really nice. Everyone there was super helpful. The free daily wine and cheese was a huge plus. We never made it to breakfast so I can't speak to that. Also, they have free parking.
