We just returned from a fantastic stay at the Cape Charles Hotel Historic Inn & Shoppes. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly and knowledgable innkeeer. While checking in, he provided us with dining and entertainment ideas, and pointed us in the direction of the beach and a phenomenal sunset. We made our way down to the beach... more

Quiet, clean, friendly and in an excellent location. The food was delightful. I usually do not sleep well when I am travelling but the large comfortable beds made sleeping in a pleasure. Kudos to the Wagners for a wonderful renovation more

I could sum up our visit with just one word, but "Delightful" would not do this wonderful place the justice it deserves. Everyone should experience the uninterrupted pleaure of this fantastic Inn. If your looking to ralax in a lovely room, take a stroll to the beach or enjoy the Innkeepers, this is the place for YOU. more

The woman who answered the phone was extremely pleasant when I booked a room for a Saturday night in mid-August. When I asked about the web site's reference to "children six and older welcome" she advised that though the Cape Charles Historic Inn was a fairly quiet spot she was sure our kids would love the hotel. She suggested I... more

First off, I really liked the room with a private bath and a private entrance onto the porch that spanned the entire front of the second floor. It was very nicely decorated with a comfortable bed. We were there on a weekend and he had coffee (no tea), juice and bagel, but there was a place next door which seemed... more

We arrived Sunday evening and left Monday morning. There was no one to receive us but a new-to-the-job Russian maid. The lobby was not open during our stay, and, despite the advertising about its artistic content, we never got to see what was in there. There was no breakfast, though I should add that the the website, somewhat obscurely, mentioned... more

We just got back from a 4 night stay at the Inn. The accomodation was wonderful, with clean, spacious rooms and right in the heart of the town. The innkeeper was friendly and very helpful. The beach was a 5 min walk away and the sunsets are a must. We will return! Mel and Nic Pittsburgh pa more

After reading the great reviews we were looking forward to our stay. Your host, Rich Wagner, is very engaging. Our room was just as requested with a comfortable bed, very clean bathroom, small TV, and a balcony overlooking the harbor that was somewhat obstructed by a vintage railcar display. A continental breakfast is not served during the week, but Rich... more

Cape Charles Hotel Historic Inn and Shoppes During a recent stay [September 2007] to the Eastern Shore of Virginia, my husband and I discovered a lovely place to stay in the Cape Charles historic district, along the waterfront just a block from the beach, and beautiful sunsets, at Chesapeake Bay. Cape Charles Hotel Historic Inn and Shoppes at 235 Mason... more
