I called the hotel because I was not able to book and include the same day. Ned was very helpful in working out a room for us that was dog friendly. Room 21 is huge and spacious. The hotel was closed for the winter and had just opened, however the suite was immaculate, the beds are very comfortable, and the... More

I had driven for about a 1000 Km and was running out of steam. It so happened that I was near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and the last place before the bridge was Cape Charles. I went in there and found the Hotel Cape Charles and checked in. First I liked Cape Charles, there is not a lot to it... More

We were left without a place to stay because our rental property was not available when we arrived in Cape Charles. That's when the townspeople took over and made certain that we would have a fighting chance to stay in their town at least a little while. John at the wine and cheese shop directed us to the Hotel Cape... More

An incredible gem in a tiny port. Cape Charles is tiny and sleepy in October. However the Cape Charles Hotel would fit in New York, san Francisco, or London, anytime of the year. But fits best as an oasis in Virginia.

Beautifully renovated and appointed, this modern hotel brings style and a little edge to historic Cape Charles. Our room was bright, inviting, comfortable and clean. In a nod to Southern tradition, we had a balcony overlooking Mason Street good for people-watching and for glimpses of the sunrise and sunset as well. The manager, Ned Brinkley, was attentive and informative. All... More

What a wonderful surprise to find this modern loft style boutique hotel at the end of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. With dreamy beds and bathroom that are home worthy..Ned the manger and Roxie the greeter pooch made my stay with my small dog companion very welcomed.. Lovely first floor courtyard rooms for easy dog walks...If your lucky enough to... More

Whenever I visit the Eastern Shore for work, I exclusively stay at the Hotel Cape Charles. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The hotel itself is so chic and stylish, but also comfortable and cozy. The beds are the most comfortable I've ever slept in! Just a short walk to the beach, adjacent to delicious restaurants and shops, and... More

This hotel is so charming - I give it my highest rating. An old building with all the modern amenities. The look is very contemporary - comfortable. The staff (owners?) were welcoming and helpful. The whole experience was one that makes me hope to return. The sooner the better!

Cape Charles, near southern tip of Eastern Shore, is great place for birding, with Kiptopeke State Park & wildlife refuge nearby. Innkeeper Ned is accomplished birder who knows best local spots, including owl roosts. Cape Charles is charming, with inviting rocking chairs outside storefronts and a city pier which offers fishing without a state license. (Oystercatchers!) dine at The Shack,... More

We have to agree about the birds - the staff and I have been gathered on Mason Avenue just now, watching the Peregrine Falcons go over at about one every three minutes - a strong southeasterly wind is blowing, so they are all going over the hotel instead of the barrier islands! Thanks so very much for your good company... More
