A friend and I just returned from the "welcome weekend" program. What a great mini- escape! We had dorm accommodations, which were 3 bunk beds in a huge room. Dorm style and private bathrooms were available on the women only floor. No elevator here! So, don't bring really heavy bags. No shoes inside any of the buildings. So, it is... More

My wife and I purchased a "welcome" weekend package and checked in on Friday afternoon. The greeting was warm and welcome and we made our way to the modest accommodations. The staff, setting, yoga and meditation were all very good. This is a place for restoration not papering. The meals are wholesome yet basic and veggie. The environment is peaceful... More

A friend and I went here for a couple of days through the Travelzoo deal. I've been doing yoga for years and she just needed a break from reality. The accommodations were simple and very clean. We stayed in a private room with 2 twin beds and had our own bathroom. I feel like this was worth it for privacy.... More

The first thing visitors need to realize before visiting Satchidananda Ashram is that it's not a resort or spa. It's an ashram, or spiritual place, populated and run by devotees of the late Swami Satchidananda, who was famous for many things, among them opening the 1969 Woodstock festival. I practice yoga regularly, so visited this place with a TravelZoo voucher... More

This visit to Yogaville -- my third and longest stay -- was a wonderful alternative to the usual New Year's revelry. Some 70 other people gathered for a four-night silent retreat. We received instruction and guidance in meditation and yoga, and had the opportunity to spend time in the LOTUS as well as visit and meditate in Swami Satchidananda's home... More

We made a last minute decision to go to this ashram for 3 days over Christmas. No regrets. It was a great experience. The accommodation was simple and adequate especially since we didn't spend much time in our room. There was too much to do.We hiked one day. We visited the various areas of the ashram including the beautiful LOTUS... More

Try the welcome Weekend at Yogaville and you will come back. Lovely place, nice ambience, great staff, good yoga & meditation sessions. Food is the best part, you have veggie, vegan and gluten free options.

I was a yoga novice but tagged along on a group trip with my mom and aunt. The sleeping facilities were very nice, economical, and very clean (we stayed in a dorm room). I'd recommend earplugs and an eye mask to those who are un-used to sleeping in a room with 7 other people. The food was my favorite part--... More

My girlfriend and I (we're in our 40s) enjoyed Friday-Sunday here last weekend. We shared a two twin bed/private bath room. It feels like a modern college dorm room, but it was much cleaner. It made not wearing your shoes very easy. The beginner yoga classes were wonderful and thought provoking as the integral approach was fascinating. I expected to... More

My most recent trip to Yogaville was for a just-me silent retreat over Thanksgiving. Logistics: It was my first stay in the dorms and they are FABULOUS. I was expecting a room full of 30 rickety metal bunk beds, but it feels much more like college. Pretty spacious rooms, very well built bunk shelves - yes, there are "upper bunks"... More
