I visited the ashram for the Welcome Weekend to take advantage of the yoga classes. Two days later, I've had six hours of Hatha yoga! There are more activities than just yoga, including meditation sessions, trail hiking, and talks on the yogic lifestyle by residents. Meals are included with your room fee and are mostly vegan and home-cooked buffet-style. The... More

Me and my friend decided to go escape the hustle and bustle of DC for a weekend of meditation and road tripped here. We are both familiar with yoga practice so we very much knew what to expect and have very open minds. We arrived late Friday night and they were very accommodating to our situation. Because our stay was... More

It is undeniable that this place holds a special and spiritual energy, but those living and working at the ashram are not the most welcoming to guests or those taking part in programs. Meditate in the lotus shrine, sneak a coffee at the Mandala Market and Cafe, and keep an open mind when it comes to practicing integral yoga.

We went for just one night and was amazed at the friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the place, high quality of food and the wealth of activities. I really wish I had stayed longer and will go back for sure. Recommend this place to chill out or go on hiking, yoga, clean food and clean air. Great place...

I went for one-night and was amazed how full the schedule was. Went for a Welcome Visit, where I pick and chose from the daily schedule of activities. The meals were so deliciously healthy and vegan. The yoga classes and talks were uplifting and invigorating. And a nice selection of books in the bookstores on the main campus and at... More

There is a wonderful presence of peace throughout the Ashram, from the moment you set foot on the property you are surrounded by beauty. The food is prepared with love. The quiet and stillness nurture your soul.

After reading the reviews, I think everyone contributed to the essence of Yogaville. This place will turn off some folks (as noted in the negative reviews) but for people like me, it helped me recommit to my spiritual practice and make me want to be a better person. I did not feel like it was a cult at all; however,... More

Yogaville is first and foremost and Ashram (residence of monks) and an intentional community of followers of Swami Satchidananda, also known as Gurudev. His image is everywhere, during lunch there are readings from his talks and on the Saturday Satsang (evening service) there is a video of his talks. These all serve as reminders of this great man, who was... More

I have been regularly going to Yogaville since the late 90's. It is always lovely and nurturing. The setting is stunning with breath taking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Great for hiking. The accommodations range from nice hotel rooms to the very simple and basic dorm. The price range for everyone. The staff is caring. Yoga classes and daily... More
