“Outstanding service, price and stay”

Has now been taken over by Comfort Suites...super clean, great location to VT. Stayed here for soccer tournament and had nothing but good to say.

“Recently Renovated - Well Done!”

My wife and I stayed at this all-suite hotel which is just minutes from Virginia Tech. It is our favorite place to stay when we visit our son at college. “A good hotel not too far from the Virginia Tech campus”

This is a nice hotel, albeit not architecturally distinguished; but it's quiet and well-maintained and the service is great. “price gougers”

nice place, but on many weekends they raise price from $100 to $350!!! price goes up whenever college event on, but makes it impossible to be a regular there on business travels. highest jump i've ever experienced!

While it is true that our rates increase for special University events, the very highest rate that we have ever charged or quoted was $289. I'll start out by saying the front desk staff was great. Good attitudes, helpful, friendly, etc. Also has good proximity to VT. Everything else, however? Not so great. Always use this hotel when staying in the VT area. Great location to campus. The staff are always very helpful, great room and good breakfast.

We stay at the Hawthorn for all of the VT Home Football games. It is so convenient to the University and the suite makes it nice if you have a student you want to bring back and visit with. The breakfast (included) is good. We find it comfortable, clean and nice. We have probably stayed there at least 20-25 times... More

“A restful stop on a lengthy road trip.”

We had a smooth and easy late check in on Christmas Day to a wonderful suite for 5 of us who spent 10 hours in the car, for a reasonable AAA rate of $98. “Multiple stays here and each one has been outstanding”

its not a five star hotel but it is a five star experience. Pricey but not any more than the other hotels in its class. You have to give kudos to a well run business that really knows how to take care of its customers/travelers ... even if it means upping the competition for hotel rooms during prime weekends :)... “Overpriced for football game weekends - but nice overall”
