The room was a great size with a nice porch. Small town very close by with several gift shops, restaurants, drug store and grocery store. The grounds and view at the White House were very attractive. Although I stayed in July for winter quests there are large ski resorts close by. The staff could not of been nicer, adding to... more

I stayed six nights in this wonderful old inn while photographing the nearby sites and landscapes of Southern Vermont. I found the charm and peace of the inn intoxicating and extremely relaxing. The Inn is beautiful and well maintained with a caring staff, excellent breakfasts and a fine restaruant (open weekends.) It is decorated with period furniture and accessories. Somehow,... more

Its hard to find words to say how amazing this place is. It left me speechless it is so good. I cannot see how anyone would fail to be charmed by it unless they are blind or have no taste. We have been to many Inns but this is just in a different league. We looked at a few rooms... more

We had originally planned to stay for two nights but left after only one. Whilst the new Innkeeper was extremely accommodating she was clearly stretching herself too far - waiting on table, running front desk, handling issues etc... Initial impressions are of a grand colonial style residence but it soon becomes apparent that the Inn is in need of a... more

What an unbelievable experience! I had planned this weekend as a surprise proposal for my longterm girlfriend. Keeping this surprise was not at all easy, but with the help of the staff, and in particular new owner Stacey, the event was pulled off without a hitch. From the day I made reservations, the Stacey was in contact with me, answering... more

My fiance and I decided to get away for a weekend. We found The White House Inn online and I read the reviews. 95% of them looked great, except for some comments about the innkeeper. Well, the inn is very recently under new management with a lovely innkeeper who couldn't be more charming and accomodating. The breakfast was wonderful. The... more

This was an absolutely beautiful Vermont B&B. We loved it so much, we went back a month after our first visit. The Inn is a large old mansion that has has been well tended to by Stan, the owner. The cocktails are tasty and the meals are even better. We had breakfast and dinner there every day and enjoyed it... more

This property is like going back to Gone With The Wind. What a wonderful place. The place goes on and on, it seems hugh. The livingroom is grand, Baxter's bar is reminisent of an English Pub. The rooms with a fireplace, how cozy is that. The owner is a great plus. The staff are very gracious. I would love to... more

The White House Inn took us back to a time of gentile, classy, elegance. Rest came sweet and easy as we relished the down-filled mattress pads and pillows, priceless antiques and paintings-which set the stage for days reminiscent of Jane Austin and the grandeur of Pride and Prejudice. The White House Inn is one of the few historic gems on... more

What a wonderful inn. Their accomodations (rooms, restaurant and relaxing areas) are excellent. First-class service welcomes you to this Vermont charmer. I cannot wait to come back here in warmer weather. more
