If you are traveling to Dartmouth, the White Mountains, to the Quechee area,to or from Canada, or just touring this beautiful part of the world, please put the Hotel Coolidge on your itinerary. Other TAs have well-described the charm and historic character of this well- managed unique hotel. We had the Room 206 suite with our two grandsons. Four big... More

If you are seeking a clean, comfortable room in a historic property with genuine charm, the Coolidge will fit the bill nicely. I found it a refreshing change from cookie-cutter corporate hotels and just-so B&Bs. Be sure to read the history of the hotel in the binder in your room, and explore the artifacts and art in the common areas.... More

We spent the night in two rooms connected by the bathroom. Worked well for us. Many rooms seemed to have similar configurations. Other reviewers complained of the trains but we didn't hear anything till after 9. Beds were comfortable. Interesting place worth a look.

We had this hotel booked for 2 nights! Left after 1, lost the money! There is so much noise from the radiators and from the pipes we could not sleep at all! Rooms were filthy and 1/2 broken shower! Area is unsafe and parking is awful! Add to it trains shifting all night ( the tracks are in the front)... More

I am sorry to see this having just received 7 glowing reviews in a row from a very nice but diverse string of guests. I am the owner innkeeper here now for 30 years so I am very accessible to work out disputes regarding our cancellation policy which is 48 hours - not so flexible as a chain hotel but... More

If you want the glitz and glamor of modernity, go on up the road to Hanover. But if you are looking for a good night's sleep, amidst the charm and ambiance of a classic hotel, you MUST treat yourself to a stay in the Coolidge! The front lobby made me feel at home, not like I was a stranger. The... More

This hotel is full of old New England charm - something in diminishing supply as so many older hotels are supplanted by large chains. But the Coolidge still proudly wears its nineteenth-century origin on its sleeve. Yes, the rooms are smaller and the bathrooms older than your average chain hotel, but they're perfectly comfortable, clean and full of appeal. The... More

DW and I joined a fodorite group for a cooking class at King Arthur flour. We had a nice room with a king bed and separate sitting room. There's a nice Turkish restaurant on the corner. The people who work there seem to care about the hotel, the town, and the guests. That's nice.

This hotel is as charming as the city it is located. Nice mood and friendly people made our stay really pleasant. The receptionist was really sympathetic and the room really cozy and clean. Could cost a little cheaper, but worth it, anyway...

Stayed here on our way across country on bikes. Nice turn of the 1900 century hotel that has been kept in excellent shape, nice long wide hallways and large rooms. Service was great, host and hostess were friendly and knowledgeable. Great location, right downtown, across from the train depot. Good restaurants within walking distance.

In reading the reviews of others, it was apparent to me that those who are used to the cookie cutter motel experience were the ones most disappointed in the Hotel Coolidge. However, for those who are adventuresome and want to experience the genuine article, this is it. Having grown up in New England, I used to stay in the 1950s... More
