From start to finish, the innkeepers of this pretty lodge took great care of us. Our scattered family were gathering for a funeral, and Steve and Caroline helped with so many details. The rates were very good for the handy location and also for the lunch buffet they hosted following the graveside service, for 30 people. Several of our family... More

August Dulcimer Daze provided lodging for meat Big Bears Lodge. Even though it was not quite the season to be in Dover, VT (just before the "color" season) It was a lovely setting. The rooms were nice, and the breakfast outstanding. Access to the quaint and lovely area was very easy.

Lets start with the abrasive customer service, the owners of this establishment are disrespectful & prejudice. right from the start the owner made accusations about the two gentlemen who were checking in, due to the only fact that they were gentlemen in their 20's. @ 9am the owner began banging on our bedroom door accusing us of smoking marijuana, not... Nice little warm (friendly) cozy lodge by Mt. Snow. There are many reasons to recommend it: It was perfect for what we were looking for. We were a ski club group of about 30. Hot tub (a requirement for a ski lodging place in my opinion-important for those sore skiing muscles. I think it could seat 8 at a time.... More

We stay at Big Bears Lodge every year to ski at Mt. Snow. The lodge is a wonderful place to stay (and this year was no exception). The owners are so welcoming and try to meet all your expectations. The rooms are not fancy, but they are clean and comfortable. The lodge offers a great breakfast and "afternoon soup and... More

This place was incredible, and the owners, Steve and Caroline, were extremely generous and they interacted with their guests. They went out of their way to entertain us and give us exactly what we need. Every time we visit Mount Snow, we will always stay here, and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. The breakfast is amazing too; they made... More

This has been our 4th year at the Big Bear Lodge of a 35 years of coming up to Vermont for the club. The lodge is a great location right across from the mountain the rooms are big to a good size. Our club brings 15 to 25 people and have always been happy with everything. We have stayed at... More

Big Bears Lodge does a fantastic job at giving you everything you need for a ski weekend--comfortable sleeping quarters, common areas to read, write, watch TV, play games, and enjoy a meal. My breakfast was perfect--blueberry muffins made from scratch, creamy scrambled eggs, with a side of bacon( all made to order)and choices of coffee and tea, served in a... More

Dear Gerard It is not normally good policy for a property to respond to a negative review with anything but an apology and some kind of explanation as to how the property can make the guests stay a much improved experience in the future. However, in this case we will make an exception. Going by your behavior while you stayed... More

The first clue we'd made a mistake was the empty parking lot. The other more obvious indicators was the unfriendly welcome at check-in followed by the lack of cleanliness in the room, 1960's motif, a bathroom full of mold, and bedding that stunk and needed to be thrown in the trash.

Hello Harleyman1 We have looked through our reservation records for both December 2013 and January 2014 but have been unable to find a reservation from anyone from Florida. We have therefore been unable to determine which room you are referring to. We have inspected every bathroom but have been unable to find any that have the mold problem that you... More
