My fiance & I stayed at the Red Oak for a long weekend of skiing & eating in southern VT. The inn was quiet and clean. A few families were in the bar (BYOB-! only in VT?!) & game room, but the place was surprisingly quiet. The staff was friendly. Mount Snow does an amazing job with snowmaking, so despite... More

My family & our friends (adults & children) stay at the Red Oak Inn to enjoy Mt. Snow after the snow storm. :) We heard the Red Oak reopened with a new owner. The place was clean & we had fun. It's not fancy but we relaxed at the fireplace & BYOB bar room & the kids found the game... More

OK so this place doesn't have the best reviews, and I can understand why. But there's just something about it that we love. That's why we've stayed there at least six times over the past few years. Visiting from the big city for long weekends of relaxion in Vermont, the Red Oak just has an irrestitably quiet, slightly scruffy country... More

This place really needs an overhaul. I made reservations through the Mt. Snow hotline and, since we only wanted to stay one weekend night, the options were more limted (most places require a 2 night minimum on the weekends). The phone rep indicated that it was nice. The property is very dated. We went straight to Mt Snow for some... More

We stayed here with another family over new years weekend. The rooms are in serious need of renovating. Wall to wall dingy carpet. Tiny bathroom with a shower stall. The mattresses are old, dingy, and stained. We were totally grossed out by the accomodations. We were met by staff that seemed annoyed we had children with us. And the breakfast was... More

My husband and I stayed at the Red Oak Inn over New Years and we were very disappointed. I had an allergic reaction to the pillows (and possibly the rugs as they were very stained and looked dirty) and had to put a t-shirt over the pillow in order to sleep. And I normally don't have allergic reactions to anything!... More

Our stay at the Red Oak Inn was very dissapointing. The place is in desparate need of renovation and so is all the decor. The carpeting throughout the place was worn and stained which disgusted us.The guest rooms had old high pile carpeting and there was no way to control the heat in our room nor the temperature in the... We stayed two nights last winter with three kids. The "family suite" with two bedrooms and five beds was perfect for us and a great value. The rooms were small but clean and comfortable warm considering the single digit outdoor temp. Bed was comfortable. We played games in the living room and unfortunately watched the Patriots lose to the Jets.... More

I was simply looking for a clean room near Mt. Snow and a hot-tub. While I got the former, the latter was definitely lacking. The hot-tub and pool are outside (contrary to the website's claims of an indoor hot-tub) and were not open during my stay (completely snowed over. As others mentioned, the service is pretty poor bordering on non-existent... More

Nothing good here and for $230 for a one night stay (including lift ticket) you could find better!!! The staff, save for 2 or three of the young staffers, were rude and unfriendly!!! They had no clue on local activities or restaurants and did not want to be bothered by questions. This was suppose to be a romantic getaway and... More
