I have stayed at dozens of Vermont inns, and this is the standout. The owners, Polish emigrés, have ingeniously mixed their European folklorica style with their snowboarder son's casual cool, and the result is hip, warm and fun. The proprietors have the instinct for going with their instincts--and the result is original and engaging. The bar is stocked with cool... more

Do not stay here, it is expensive and the rooms have mildew since the bathrooms have no ceiling fan. We had to end our vacation early because the rooms were so disgusting. more

The common areas are nice, the hosts warm and welcoming, and the restaurant has some truly memorable foods - I enjoyed the buffet dinner which featured a number of Polish specialties as well as prime rib. That being said, the room was acceptable, nothing outstanding, and the positioning of the bed against the wall separating the room from the hallway... more

So, I was ready to write a really bad review of this Inn because the room was awful (more on that later). However, the owners of this Inn are so friendly and welcoming; the common areas of this Inn are so charming and the food is well, just delicious. That more than makes up for a (much) less than perfect... more

Me and my parents stayed here for our last night after a trip through Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont for the foliage. We wished we knew about this place sooner! We felt so welcome by the owners and the rest of the family ( and the dog Tuckerman). Room was basic but clean and we would hear the creek behind... more

I'll make this really simple. Pros: Very close to Mt. Snow, clean rooms, good mattresses Cons: Cheapest toilet paper, smallest bath towels, no phones in room, miniscule rooms, worn out carpets, horrible coffee, no name brands liquor or sodas. They turn the heat down at night, even if you want it warm in your room. I also didn't think it... more

The Matterhorn Inn is an fantastic place to stay! I had no idea where to find lodging in the Mt. Snow area as there are so many options. It was recommended to me as a nice, reasonably priced inn by a local merchant. Well, they were right. The Matterhorn has beautiful ambience and the owner and his family makes one... more

The Mount Snow ski resort area seemingly abounds with lodgings; that may be so, yet finding something suitable at a reasonable price and in high summer proved a major task for us. As luck would have it, we stopped by this Inn at the end of a fruitless search; there were some people lounging poolside while we headed for the... more

we've stayed at the matterhorn inn several times since it reopened under new management. it is a quaint inn with many pleasantries and a home away from home feel. if you like the idea of a great room with a large fireplace and a bar to sip a drink after a day on the mountain or just a quiet place... more
