A group of 6 of us went skiing at Haystack Mountain and then went into the hermitage inn for lunch. The restaurant is touted as being "upscale". When we walked into the restaurant there were a couple of tables seated, a few people waiting to be seated and our group of 6. There seemed to be no waitstaff or hostess... More

We stayed at the inn this past weekend .. We had some trouble when we first went to check in they couldn't find our reservations .. The general manager put us in a condo for the night and dinner was on them .. We appreciated what they did but we were still disappointed with our stay ... There was a... More

We loved our room--- CLEAN, large, and comfortable without being fussy. Great bathrooms, flat screen, gas fireplace. Thin walls but come on, it's an old inn. Bed..the most comfortable bed ever. Nice towels and linens and robes and amenities. Problems...start and end at front desk reception. As the previous review stated...this place needs a cracker jack GM...one with perhaps schooling... The Hermitage Inn gets very high praise for vision, but has a long way to go to achieve the "exquisite luxury" experience promised. We went for a romantic mid-winter ski weekend. Our room, in the Carriage House building, was gorgeous -- comfortable and well-appointed king bed, stone hearth with gas fireplace, large flat screen TV and huge bath with tile... More

Visited the Hermitage Inn in January 2024 and stayed for one night on a trip between Canada and NYC. The Inn is in a lovely location at the foot of a mountain and offers the typical Vermont charm that I was hoping for. The room was well sized, clean and had a nice fireplace. Its not a 5* hotel but... More

Have a house nearby for 35 years and have dined at the Hermitage many times. Last night, when one of our party told our wait person that the chicken was under cooked, the manager appeared, brandishing the returned dish, stood at our table while we remained sitting and pushed the plate at the complaining diner, saying "show me where the... We spent 3 nights at the hermitage inn last May with a living social deal. While the prices wouldn't be conducive to us staying without that, the room and service were wonderful. The bathroom had a jaccuzi and also a stone shower with a seat / ledge in it. The room also had a gas fireplace and a modern, large... More

Beautiful setting with a covered bridge entrance to a rolling front lawn with the Inn framed against the mountains behind it. Picture perfect buildings and well appointed rooms made for a very comfortable stay for my wife and I. I wish we would have been able to try the restaurant while we were there, but they were having a wedding... More

This place is a gem and I am already wanting to go back. The room was well appointed and inviting, plus the bed was very comfortable. The bar and dining area was elegant and the food was outstanding. The staff was both friendly and efficient, it really made for a great experience! They have a game room area and trails... More

My husband and I went up to VT last weekend. We weren't sure what to expect from the Hermitage - it looked nice online, but sometimes it can be hard to tell. We got a deal through Jetsetter.com which included a round of golf at their course. Once we got there, we just fell in love. It has the amenities... More
