The Inn at Sawmill Farm, is among the top 10 in the world I have stayed. I am a trained culinary Chef, have traveled most of the world.. I am also versed on the difference between good and great service, accommodations, food, wines, etc...I was here back in 1997, only to return on a promise it would live up to... more

Forty years ago on our honeymoon we could not find a hotel room anywhere. We were young and broke. We were directed to the newly opened Inn at Sawmill Farm. They gave us a wonderful room, cheesecake, apricot sours, and the most wonderful breakfast!! All at a fraction of their real cost. I believe we paid $20-25. For forty years... more

My wife and I were looking for somewhere to stay in this area, and just happened to call the Inn at Sawmill Farm at the last moment as we were close. We knew little about it and had not much idea of what to expect. We were so surprised to find ourselves in an inn that, though no longer a... more

my fiance and i are all for the rustic new england experience, but at these prices we expected much much more. we would have tolerated the musty rooms and antiquated bathrooms had the service been a little better. we were practically the only ones at the inn, yet made to feel we were inconveniencing the staff at every turn. one... more

The Inn at Sawmill Farm is a great, classic New England Inn. We were lucky enough to stay there for three days in Sep. 2008. We had the Wood Shed, which is a standalone building with a large bedroom and sitting area, a beautiful fireplace, flatscreen TV, a little patio overlooking a pond, a small loft area and a nice... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Inn for 3 nights at the beginning of August and have found a new getaway! When we go away we look for a place that allows us to rest, and offers outstanding food and impeccable service. We found all of that and more here at the Inn. We stayed in the Spring House,... more

My husband and I spent a 3-day weekend at the Inn at Sawmill Farm and really enjoyed it. We stayed in one of the cottages scattered over the property [there are also rooms in the main lodge]. Our cottage [the Carriage House] had a large comfortable livingroom with a huge working fireplace, a large bedroom furnished with antiques, a walk-in... more

Recently returned to introduce friends from NYC to this luxurious country inn. Staff (e.g. Ray Peters, Wes Haight, Chinon Williams [owner's daughter]) is very friendly, eager to please, remembered us, and are as well trained as any restaurant we've ever visited. Pat in reservations was also most helpful in re-arranging our change of dates. Food is excellently prepared and beautifully... more

My wife and I spent three nights at the inn and found that it more than lived up to its reputation. Our room was spacious and spotless, quiet and very comfortable with every conceivable convenience. The meals, however, were simply outstanding rivalling the best of European fare. Brill Williams, the owner-chef has clearly built well on the foundation established 40... more
