my fiance and i are all for the rustic new england experience, but at these prices we expected much much more. we would have tolerated the musty rooms and antiquated bathrooms had the service been a little better. we were practically the only ones at the inn, yet made to feel we were inconveniencing the staff at every turn. one... more

The Inn at Sawmill Farm is a great, classic New England Inn. We were lucky enough to stay there for three days in Sep. 2008. We had the Wood Shed, which is a standalone building with a large bedroom and sitting area, a beautiful fireplace, flatscreen TV, a little patio overlooking a pond, a small loft area and a nice... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Inn for 3 nights at the beginning of August and have found a new getaway! When we go away we look for a place that allows us to rest, and offers outstanding food and impeccable service. We found all of that and more here at the Inn. We stayed in the Spring House,... more

My husband and I spent a 3-day weekend at the Inn at Sawmill Farm and really enjoyed it. We stayed in one of the cottages scattered over the property [there are also rooms in the main lodge]. Our cottage [the Carriage House] had a large comfortable livingroom with a huge working fireplace, a large bedroom furnished with antiques, a walk-in... more

Recently returned to introduce friends from NYC to this luxurious country inn. Staff (e.g. Ray Peters, Wes Haight, Chinon Williams [owner's daughter]) is very friendly, eager to please, remembered us, and are as well trained as any restaurant we've ever visited. Pat in reservations was also most helpful in re-arranging our change of dates. Food is excellently prepared and beautifully... more

My wife and I spent three nights at the inn and found that it more than lived up to its reputation. Our room was spacious and spotless, quiet and very comfortable with every conceivable convenience. The meals, however, were simply outstanding rivalling the best of European fare. Brill Williams, the owner-chef has clearly built well on the foundation established 40... more

We spent the weekend at the Sawmill Inn for my birthday. What a wonderful place! We loved it! We received a quick tour upon arriving and learned a bit of history. The grounds, food and service were impeccable. I would recommend a stay here to anyone that enjoys quiet luxury in a relaxed atmosphere. more

My husband and I just returned from Vermont where we spent two miserable prepaid evenings at this once lovely inn. We were horrified to find the condition and service has fallen to lows we have not seen in our travel history. The property was once a member of the prestigous Relais and Chateaux group and held very high standards. To... more

What one must understand about this extrodinary little Relais and Chateaux is that it is rural and rustic - if that is what you are looking for than you are in luck becuase you will discover the inn to have an amazing wine list, spectacular dining, enchanting atmosphere, and an overall luxurious, elegant, and sophisticated, yet lazy and simple air... more
