My sister and i have been visiting the Millbrook for the past 15+ years. it suits us perfectly - beautiful grounds, smart helpful hosts, excellent breakfasts (eaten outdoors in the summer) and elegant dinners with fabulous desserts. It is centrally located for us to visit family scattered all over Vermont. We always stay in the Willow Room on the first... More

We just returned from staying a few nights at the Millbrook Inn. We stayed in the Octagon House, however, and can't comment on the quality of the Inn itself or the food there. That said, our stay was very pleasant. The Octagon House is very much like a cottage, so don't expect fancy amenities. However, it has all that you... More

We stayed 3 nights in July 2011 on our way down from Montreal and we had an amazing stay. I will definitely be back to Millbrook Inn as I want to ski at Mad River Glen this winter, if work allows, hopefully. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in the area. Joan is a great host and she cooks my eggs... More

We arrived at Millbrook Inn on our bicycles just minutes ahead of a downpour of rain. Our innkeeper, Joan Gorman, greeted us and helped us organize our bikes in a safe dry place and we got inside quickly, as the skies opened up in a deluge. We washed up, rested and went to the dinig room where we ate a... More

We recently enjoyed three nights at Millbrook Inn. Our rooms were clean, each with en suite bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were airy and decorated with lovely antiques. Joan was very knowledgable about the area and recommended wonderful restaurants for us to visit on our day trips. We had Joan prepare dinner for us the first night.... More

My wife and I stayed here in early July for one night while driving through VT. The inn was very charming and we had a brief, but comfortable stay. I had communicated w/ Joan, the innkeeper, by email several weeks in advance to set up dinner reservations since the restaurant is now open only to guests who book in advance.... More

We went with another couple to the Mill Brook Inn for dinner last night. It was a complete delight. It's a great example of what people come to Vermont hoping to find -- good food, good wine, unpretentious yet elegant surroundings, beautiful country setting, well-read and well-traveled hosts (Joan and Thom) who have a gift for making you feel at... We spent two wonderful days at the Millbrook Inn, skiing at Sugarbush and relaxing afterwards in the snug living room by the fire before having a beautifully prepared meal in the cozy and elegant dining room (with another fire). The menu was large for a small kitchen and everything was carefully prepared and served from traditional meat dishes to their... More

The Millbrook Inn is located on the road (Rte 17) to the Appalachian Gap close to Waitsfield, VT, and the Mad River and Sugarbush North ski areas. The slopes are invitingly visible from the Inn; the Long Trail runs along the crest of the nearby hills. The core of the Inn is a mid-19th century Inn; a modern addition holds... More
