Myself and two of my friends stayed at the Black Bear Lodge during the final weekend of the 2014-15 Stratton ski season. Megan at the front desk helped make this a great experience. She was very flexible with our group and super welcoming after a really tough drive. The hotel is a great value for being right outside / walking... More

This hotel is well located at the stratton mountain resort, my is that it needs a renovation in some areas like lobby, breakfasr area and ailes. The room is well sized but it doesn't have good acoustic, you can hear every noise outside. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is included but poor. Wi fi works well in the... More

This use to be formally known as the Inn at Stratton. This place has the foundation to be so much more than it is. It's just needs a little more TLC and the right management and it really would be a solid ski stay. I appreciate that they have renovated the rooms however rather than just paint and put new... A very cozy lodging situation. Very large rooms and very close to the mountain. Stayed here for New Years and had a fantastic vacation with the family. Any of the hotels are perfect in this area to be honest! The beds are comfy and the living room area allowed us all to be together by the fire with hot chocolate... More

This is the fourth year at the Black Bear Lodge for our group. That is both good and bad news. The good news is that there is now a large convenient shuttle for trips to restaurants and slopes. Also the large hot tub was not working last year and it has been repaired. The bad news is that our favorite... More

Black Bear Lodge is small and cozy with very clean rooms and good location close to the mountain and village. Lobby is very cozy with a big fireplace and the restaurant bar serves a great margarita. Complimentary continental breakfast is not your chain hotel continental, pastries and baked goods are local and the yogurt and granola are great quality. Coffee,... More

I have stayed at this property many times over the years. I have seen many changes and upgrades. The replacement of the van with a minibus is a big plus. Especially with ski boots. The lodge is kept very clean and the beds are super comfy. Megan the manager is terrific! My only negative comment is the restaurant needs more... More

Hotel staff was very friendly. The room was very nice and spacious. Great location in the village. They had a shuttle that ran all day, never waited for more than 3 minutes for it. Awesome complimentary continental breakfast. Very nice hot tub and sauna. Only complaint is the beds were kind of hard, but not terrible. We will be coming... More

The Black Bear Lodge is priced like a fancy ski resort, but looks like a low-quality motel. First, the lobby smells heavily of chlorine, which wafts in from the nasty hot tub a full floor down! We took one look at the hot tub and decided against it - the entire area looked as though it hadn't been renovated in... More

We can't recommend the Black Bear Lodge and the main reason for this is the noise. The walls are paper thin, but the real issue is the noisy heaters and the unbelievably noisy extractor fans you can hear from other rooms. We felt like there was always some buzzing or humming or something to disturb us. Who cares if you're... More
