Hospitality plus. Desk personnel are great. Love the packages for stay and ski. Shuttle is a great perk. The room was clean and neat. Location is awesome. The entry of lodge needs a makeover especially with holidays...wheres the tree? The heating units in rooms need to be updated and quieter. Continental breakfast lacking kid items like donuts or muffins but... More

The lodge of the lodge is very cute and cozy. The rooms are large, recently redone, and clean. All great!!! However, there were some odds and ends that needed to be fixed. For example, there was a patch of spackel on our bathroom wall from the recently remodel, but it wasn't repainted. Also, the walls and doors had scuff marks... More

The room we stayed in was very clean and updated, never ran out of towels as somebody mentioned previously. Honestly, my expectations were much lower, but as soon as we opened the door we were very nicely surprised. The bed was comfortable, however I kept waking up through the night becasue although we had our thermostat set to pretty low... More

Although they have done some remodeling, this ski resort is still just a bare bones facility. I'm still amazed that they don't provide hand towels in the room. The bathroom has had some upgrades with new paint and fixtures.

It just seems run down. Great location within a short walk of the base lodge and village at Stratton Mountain. The 'complimentary' breakfast was a joke. They had 3 bagels out for the 4 of us. The rooms are very average at best. No fridge or coffee maker. Service was very friendly and helpful. Sauna is weak, pool area is... More

First off, it was cheap, no complaints there. The rooms clearly had been upgraded recently and the staff was super friendly and helpful but that's where things stop. This place is a 70's hotel with a little makeup. The breakfast included was laughable. There were 4 of us, when we arrived at 8:30 there were 3 bagels for us to... More

Online this place looks great ... in reality ... not so much. Maybe when the US economy tanked a few years ago the new owners' great plans to revamp just failed to materialize. It definitely has potential ... but I think that some of the furnishings date back to the late 1970s. There have been some obvious attempts at renovations,... More

We were very excited for our first trip to Vermont. The state did not dissapoint but the hotel sure did. They did make sure we got a first floor room as requested but the fridge we asked for was not in the room. Luckily they were quick to bring it. The staff was very friendly and made sure we had... We were so excited to be going to Vermont for a little getaway. We chose Black Bear Lodge and picked a room with a mountain view! It was 375 (450 with taxes and fees) for our 3 night stay--no mountain view. Needless to say I was pretty upset to pay so much to have a mountain view room only to... More

We just returned from a weekend package my wife purchases through Travel Zoo. From the moment we arrived the front desk staff were phenomenal. They were happy to help get us settled in, offered great restaurant advice and steered us to some great hiking. But most if all they put the "H" in hospitality. We both felt that they all... More
