The concept of staying in a b and b is that you are guests in someones home and Shawn and Chantel authentically create that experience. Both are former ski instructors and they bought the inn years ago so they could "live the dream" of bringing their kids up in a ski community. The rooms are comfy, there is a classic... More

Our initial view was that the B&B was run down and in need of a good overhaul but when we went inside it was very homely and rustic. Chantal and Shawn gave us a great welcome and lots of information about the area. Our room was No 6 at the back of the house away from the road noise (house... More

The house is from the mid 1800s, but feels more charming than just old. Sort of like visiting grandmother's house. Yes it could use some sprucing up, but that is what makes it feel homier. Our hosts were terrific and did make us feel at home. Bed was very comfortable. The road in front is busy, but dies down to... More

Auberge de Stowe is very comfortable; a little older than some other places, but good for the price. Shawn and Chantal are gracious hosts. Their bed and breakfast is conveniently located in Stowe; breakfasts are delicious, and Max the dog is a great new friend!

It was a pleasure meeting you and your daughter. We hope she had a wonderful time at camp. Thank you very much for your review in particular your perspective on the noise. We are sure it will be helpful to other potential guests. More

My wife and I enjoyed immensely our stay with Shawn and Chantal. They are warm and welcoming folks and very helpful with all aspects of your stay. We have some dietary restrictions that they were happy to accommodate, and stayed to chat with us over breakfast. They have some fascinating stories and insights into life in Vermont. The room was... It was lovely meeting you both and sharing our perspectives on so many things at breakfast. Thank you for taking the time to submit such a thoughtful and detailed review and also for being so considerate about letting us know when you would be arriving. More

This little B&B is a nice place to stay with your family. The owners are lovely people and the breakfast was delicious, especially Chantal's ginger rhubarb jam, so superb. The room itself could certainly use some TLC, the rugs are old, beds are old and sunken, bathroom vinyl flooring moldy. You can tell it is an older home that is... More

Thank you for taking the time to review our inn and for your kind comments on the innkeepers and breakfast. Since we have owned the inn, we have partially or totally renovated over 5 bathrooms about one every other year starting with the rooms that get the most use. Admittedly the one your were in was not one of them.... More

Located on Route 100, not far from the Stowe's center. We were the only client but still we got an unattractive noisy room very close to the road. Decent basic breakfast. A little bit too expensive for the quality of the B&B.

Thank you for your review. We are impressed that you remember the breakfast nine months after your stay and pleased you rate it "decent". Our photos and address show us located on Route 100, and when we are questioned by potential guests about the traffic we inform them that the road noise dies down after 9 PM (as in many... More

Auberge de Stowe is such a cute little B&B that has a real sense of homeliness as soon as you walk into it. We arrived there quite late after a very snowy drive from NYC and there was a personal note waiting for us in the welcome box, directing us to our room. Shawn and Chantal were extremely hospitable hosts... More

If you want a true B&B experience this is a good place to start. Shawn & Chantal are wonderful hosts and go out of their way to make your stay in Vermont exactly what you wanted it to be. We were there for the fall foliage and as luck would have it there was a big wind storm the day... More

Auberge de Stowe made us feel at home right away. The owner Shawn was there to greet us when we arrived late after a long drive from Boston, and immediately recommended restaurants in downtown Stowe since he could tell we were starving! Our room #5 was spacious with a fairly large bathroom, and we liked the fact that there is... More
