Great location. We rented the house with two other families for a weekend at Stowe. Plenty of room, well stocked kitchen and fireplace. Definitely going again next year and will stay there again. Close to shuttle pick up to mountain if you don't want to drive.

We rented the entire house for a ski weekend with 12 friends and found 1860 House to be ideal. We like to cook, and the kitchen had all the equipment we needed. The home is very cozy - especially the living room which has a wood-burning furnace and plenty of firewood. The rooms are large and well-appointed. The ski shuttle... More

We rented the entire B&B to host a family ski weekend. We knew ahead of time that the innkeeper would not be there and that we were responsible for all of our own food/meals. This worked out perfectly as we had full access to the the kitchen. We had such a wonderful time - the 5 bedrooms with their own... More

There were 12 of us renting the whole place to ourselves. Therefore, we ended up not getting the B&B feature, and never get to meet Rose. However, she was quite nice and helpful over email/phone. There are 3 bedrooms on the 3rd floor and 2 on the 1st floor plus an extra room with a trundle but doesn't have window,... More

We had an extraordinary stay at the 1860 house. Rose, the owner is a true delight. We had nice conversations regarding the history of how this house became a B&B. Also, we told her it was our first time in Stowe and she gave us some great pointers. The location is great. It is a small B&B (5 rooms) and... More

The house is run by a very charming and cheerful lady named Rose. It is well located in the heart of Stowe and priced very reasonably for the area. My wife and I enjoyed our overnight stay very much. We had room 5, on the ground level and found very adequate supplies in a smallish room with a 4 poster... More

My wife and I stayed at the 1860's house for 2 nights late September. Rose was a very nice host even purchasing some gluten free items and baking some more once I had made mention of my diet. We were late for dinner one night in Stowe and Rose kindly prepared us a late night snack. Rose is a genuinely... More

This B&B was perfect in its location just off main street in downtown Stowe. The house was lovely, very clean, and very homey. We were able to just walk two blocks from there to meander along the main street in Stowe looking at all the shops and restaurants. It was my first B&B in the USA, and I just really... More

The house is lovely and couldn't be more centrally located in this bustling town. Many restaurants are within walking distance but reservations are generally needed. The bedroom was comfortable and the ensuite bathroom spacious. Our hostess was courteous and welcomed us on arrival and offered local tourist information. Breakfast was beautifully presented and we were able to choose what to... More

Built in 1860, this historic B&B is just off Main Street and within easy walking distance of a dozen good restaurants, stores and the Recreation Trail (#1 attraction in Stowe). The outside is this remarkably well-aged, three-storey building is dark-stained barn board, which is also used as a rustic accent in the spacious living room near the old, working black... More
