Booked a four-night stay here with my family by going directly to the hotel's website; trip was 8 weeks off and I booked it on a Thursday afternoon. Provided the information and received an e-mail with a confirmation number that night -- all looked good to go. The following Monday I receive an e-mail saying they can't accommodate my request... more

Just about OK for a one night stay...The room was small with very poor lighting, no tea or coffee making facilities and a bed which was like sleeping on a plank. There were no spare pillows in the room. The bathroom was decent size with a shower enclosure over the bath. However there was no bathmat. Patio door leading to... more

We thought hard about reserving this motel in Stowe for our fall foliage trip to Vermont and New Hampshire. I tried getting opinions on the motel from the Vermont forum, but that was for naught, I don't think one person answered my different queries. So, we went ahead with the reservations and now I wish I had listened to my... more

I arrived at this Inn on a snowy day in March. The staff was very helpful with our luggage, ask if we had eaten, and directed us to a simple but comfortable room with a beautiful view of a frozen river and the mountain. I would recommend this inexpensive Inn to anyone who asks about my trip to Stowe. I... more

This property is going down hill very quickly. Our room was a mess, the table and chairs were both broken and crudely screwed back together, the bathroom shower doors literally fell off the track if you tried to move them. The halls are so dark and dank you can barely see. The owner/caretaker was rude and crass to guests. The... more

I'm a little late on this review, but I was updating my TripAdvisor profile and realized I never posted it, so here we go... First, a little information: the trip to VT was to prepare for my March 8 destination wedding in Stowe. My mother and I spent our time making final wedding arrangements, while my brother was along to... more

I stayed here here on a Sunday night and it was a definate ok experience. The room was clean and simple. The hot tub was a very welcome experience after a cold day of skiing. Beautiful location, right on a river with mountain views. The staff was pleasant enough. The breakfast was decent, though it was slow to be restocked... more

We were woken at 3:30 am on Saturday night by an arriving large school group, which of course took a while to settle down (much tromping of feet overhead and loud voices). This went on for about an hour. We found out that this was no accident, it was the scheduled arrival time of the group, so management knew exactly... more

This is the second time I stayed at this place mostly because I had forgotten of my first one, otherwise I would not have come back there. We stayed there for the Xmas holiday weekend, for a bargain of 72/night. The room was comfortable and also had a small porch facing the main street. Room service was inexistent! For 2... more

My family and I had previously stayed at the Mountaineer inn, while it was once a enjoyable stay, it was absolutly horrendous and a complete waste of money this time. Upon arriving we were immediatly charged for the full cost of the rooms, since this is not the normal practice I was a little Leary. We quickly understood why. Shortly... more
