We stayed 5 nights with friends and x-country skied on local trails (including Catamount Trail), at Mt. Mansfield (Stowe) and Trapp x-country trails which are within close driving distance. The inn is well appointed and the innkeeper, Billy, was generous and very attentive to details. The living room is welcoming and charming, with real fires in the fireplace in the... More

This quiet, secluded inn is perfectly situated for the active x-country skiing or snow-shoeing family. With all the creature comforts one could need, we felt completely relaxed at this wooded retreat. Billy O'Neil, owner and proprietor, was very attentive and accommodating. Always a fire in the fireplace. Afternoon tea and cookies in the Manor. It was a very peaceful setting,... More

We stayed for 2 nights in a cottage room. When we booked, we confirmed the room rate and taxes. Unfortunately, they did not disclose a $40 per night additional fee, which was for "gratuity" on the nightly room rate! Odd because the only service we asked for was for a towel and blanket, which we never received. (The resort only... More

Edson Hill Manor's greatest advantage is probably its location: Off the main road yet close enough to skiing and restaurants. Many of the other inns were on the noisy main road(s), but Edson Hill is tucked back among rolling hills and woods. The setting is gorgeous. We stayed on the top (2nd) floor of one of the carriage houses and... More

Yet another delightful stay at Edson Hill Manor. Quiet, graceful and away from the holiday crowds is just what was on order for New Years. Staff and Bill are gracious hosts. Dinners were delicious. Bill takes pride in his wine cellar and guided us through selections. We look forward to our next stay, which we hope will be again this... More

October 12th weekend wedding at Edson Hill Manor was glorious in all sense of the word. Billy and the staff outdid themselves and we could not be more pleased. The food and the service was outstanding and our 200 guests could not get over the incredible scenery. The reception was in a tent on the lower lawn with the pond... More

Stowe, VT seems to avoid bringing in big names for hotels and for restaurants. That is part of the beauty of the area. Go a step further in order to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle. Go into the woods a couple of miles to find the secluded Edson Hill Manor. There are several "houses" there to accommodate... More

Had a room in the main inn. The tub was clogged so by the time I was finished showering the water was well above my ankles. Also, the only mirror in entire room was a little mirror in bathroom above the sink, which I had to stand on my toes to see in being I am only 5'1". Besides these... More

I would echo mjd18's review of July 23, 2013. We stayed at Edson Hill Manor for one night on the way to a bike tour and after several other Vermont stops. A great location (very quiet area of Stowe) and the grounds are well kept and beautiful, plenty of room for strolling, exploring. We were "upgraded" to carriage house end... More

The inn is a throw back to mid-century. We stayed in one of the "carriage houses". I would try to stay in the main house next time. Breakfast was a full American style and good. Services are minimal but the property is beautiful. The grounds are available for walking and the stables offer a great trail ride. We will stay... More
