Staff was very friendly, warm and helpful. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, but the place seemed old. The TV needs updating, the look of the rooms needs to be modernised. I guess I should have upgraded to a nicer room, but I thought the price I paid was high enough and it wasn't offered when I arrived. Maybe I expected a 3+ level hotel, but was very disappointed. Location was great, but I would suggest somewhere else for the money. more

Great room! Breakfast is very good as well. Wood burning fireplace is awesome and the whirlpool tub is great as well. The location is perfect for everything. There are good hiking and mountain biking trails on the property as well. Indoor and Outdoor pools on site. Walking distance to bars, restaurants and downtown Stowe. more

The Golden Eagle is supposed to be one of the better hotels in Stowe & we stayed there based on other reviews. The facility looks like it was last updated in the 1950s. We thought the room was less-than-clean and dark, furnished with the heavy furniture ala Holiday Inn 30 years ago. The "included" breakfast was below average diner food.... more

We had one night here whilst touring New England. This was a lovely hotel very near all the shops. A nice touch was the cheese and wine they offered us in reception. Golden Eagle Resort I stayed here with my wife and our three children in August. We had a great holiday and would recommend both the resort and Stowe itself. Overall a real steal at $99 a night over labor day weekend. The staff was very friendly and laid back. The room was super clean but a bit dated.
