We stayed at the Heart of the Village to visit the Burlington area. Though located in Shelburne, it is maybe a 10 minute drive to Burlington's downtown. At first I was worried that it would be loud in our room due to being relatively close to the road (2nd floor-front of the house) but it was not. The area was... More

I went to Shelburne to visit the Shelburne Museum, and found Heart of the Village Inn just down the road. The Inn is a wonderful B & B in a perfect location. The room was very comfortable. Enjoyed sitting on the porch and relaxing in a rocking chair. The breakfasts were great. Pat, the co-owner, is very attentive to the... More

My husband, my elderly mother and I stayed recently at the Heart of the Village. Because of my mother's Alzheimer's-related issues, I was concerned initially when I called to make reservations that I'd be told we wouldn't be welcome to stay. On the contrary, Pat, the co-owner of the Inn, was very understanding and helpful, even guiding me in the... More

We enjoyed our stay in Shelburne, in part because we had such a good experience with the folks at the Heart of the Village Inn. We traveled up to Vermont for a week long summer vacation. After a long drive we looked forward to our time in the middle of a Vermont village. Unfortunately our perception of what a Vermont... More

We are relocating in VT from ohio and have made many trips for house hunting, each time staying at big hotels in Burlington. This time, I had to take a flash 24h trip to VT by myself to finalize decision on the house. Since one house i was looking at was in Shelburne village I decided to stay at the... More

We stayed at the Inn for 3 nights. Our room in the carriage house was beautiful. Pat and the rest of the staff were great. Our reason for going to the Inn was to visit the Shelburne Museum which is right down the street. We ate at 2 restaurants that were terrific the bearded frog and barkeepers. They are both... More

We arrived on a recent Thursday evening, and stayed until Monday morning. Overall, we had an excellent stay. The food was top notch, the bed was comfortable, and the entire place was very clean. The air conditioning in our room did seem a little undersized for our suite, but we were not uncomfortable. I would definitely stay here again -... More

We planned our 39th anniversary trip for Burlington and were unable to find a place to stay in Burlington but found the Inn in Shelburne. We knew it was close to Burlington so made our reservation. We got a personal email from Shona, the owner, with our confirmation and information we needed for check in/out, etc. The nightly rate is... More

Stayed in the Heart of the Village Inn on our bicycle tour through Vermont. Nice room, friendly staff. Rated it average, which isn't to suggest there was anything wrong with it - just not an above average property or truly excellent. We'd stay there again - didn't see anything else nearby that we would have preferred.

My husband and I stayed here for our first anniversary and it was perfect! We were in the carriage house and the room wad very clean and comfortable. There was an A/C unit in the room, which you don't expect from a Victorian building. The staff was very friendly and were all able to suggest things to do. The breakfast... More
